Several weeks ago I had the esteemed opportunity to attend a screening of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs hosted that the world famous Graumann’s Chinese Theater in Hollywood, California as part of the Turner Classic Movies Film Festival. Shown on behalf of Disney by D23, the screening was the first showing of the restored film.

The film has been beautifully and lovingly updated with incredible sound and dazzling color and crispness. Seeing the film in a room full of film and Disney fans was one of those experiences I’ll never forget. I sat with our friends from Mouse Info, who are also Snow White fans, and had a wonderful time cheering with the audience as the wicked queen plummeted to her death at the end of the film. I’ll admit, it was really hard to not get choked up being able to see it on the big screen. I adore Snow White because I love the story, the characters, the must and the place it holds American and cinematic history. I have my fingers and toes crossed that Disney does what we all are hoping and releases this beautiful new copy of the film into theaters so that we can share this national treasure with our children the way it was intended to be seen: on the big screen.
Thank you D23 and TCM for inviting me to the film festival!
