Save money on water, juice and soda at the Disneyland Resort

June 11, 2014 in All Posts, disney california adventure, disneyland, disneyland resort, restaurant tips, Tips & Tricks for Families by Lisa Robertson

Staying hydrated is an essential part of every family’s Disneyland game plan. Whether your downing it yourself or need it to make baby’s formula, you cannot make it through a day at Disneyland without it. Bottles of water cost $3+ at the Disneyland Resort.  Ouch! And if you have a craving for a soft drink, you better get ready to really shell out some green. The good news is that there are way to save on water and soft drinks at the Disneyland Resort.

  • Bring your own water from home. You are welcome to bring water, juice boxes, milk, cups, and cans of soda into the park. Glass bottles and containers are not allow.
  • Consider purchasing a plastic or metal, reusable water bottle. These refillable bottles are great and can even be purchased with sippy cup lids or as sports bottles. Water bottles can be refilled at a variety of locations:
    • The French Market in New Orleans Square.
    • Rancho del Zocalo dining area courtyard in Frontierland.
    • Tomorrowland Terrace to the left of the order window in Tomorrowland.
    • Inside the Baby Care Center on Main Street and the Baby Care Center in Disney California Adventure Park.
  • Ask for water at food service locations where you see a soda fountain. If they sell bottled soda and bottled water, you are probably out of luck, but if you see cups, then they will be able to give you free water or ice upon request. If you don’t specify, they will give you a small (kids’) size cup of water with a lid. If you request a large cup of ice or water, they will typically oblige. A large cup of ice is the perfect size to cool down that can of soda you’ve brought from home and when you think about the cost of sodas at the Disneyland Resort, that is a HUGE savings!
In my opinion, I really don’t see the point in purchasing Dasani water, as it is nothing more than filtered water from a municipal source (city water!).  Why not just get the free filtered water Disneyland offers?  The city of Anaheim has excellent water.  Anaheim’s water was named best tasting water in Southern California and 15th best in the nation by Men’s Health Magazine in early 1997. In June of 1997, it was also recognized by the U.S. Conference of Governors for its taste, clarity, and aroma.
