Finally…it’s here. The Limited Time Magic week my sons have been waiting for: PIRATE WEEK!!!
Can you tell I’m a little bit excited? My kids love pirates. Like, really, really love them. We have more treasure chests, eye patches and swords than you can shake a…well…sword at. So when I learned last December that a pirate week was in the works for 2013, I became a bit obsessed with making sure I would be able to get my boys there to partake in the fun.
According to the Disney Parks Blog, Disneyland guests can expect the following this week (through September 29):
- The Bootstrappers pirate band will entertain guests in New Orleans Square with tall tales and musical skills.
- A scurvy bunch of Bilge Rats are taking over the Sailing Ship Columbia looking to train new recruits. (I know a few who will be willing to go for it.)
- Over at Pirate’s Lair on Tom Sawyer Island, guests may encounter a bright-eyed scallywag with a comical parrot sidekick or even make the acquaintance of Captain Jack Sparrow himself!
- Plus, as part of the ongoing Halloween fun, Pirates League is now open offering pirate makeovers! Click here for more information.
If the information on this extra pirate-themed entertainment does not appear in the entertainment guides available at the main entrance, be sure to stop by the Information Board near Central Plaza and a Guest Relations Cast Member should be able to help you find also those sneaky swashbucklers.
I won’t be able to experience Pirate Week until later in the week, so if you experience any of the fun before Friday, we would love to share your photos on our Facebook page or even in a blog post! Simply upload photos you would like us to share with our readers to Instagram or Twitter and tag them with the hashtag #babesindisneyland!
