Because Babes in Disneyland is a site for Disneyland-loving families with children and the Resort’s long-standing relationship with this amazing hospital, I thought it would be very fitting to put together a Babes in Disneyland CHOC Walk in the Park team. Walking in the CHOC Walk is a great way to support CHOC’s valuable work while meeting other Babes in Disneyland fans. I can’t wait to share the morning with you and finally meet you in person! Click here to join the Babes In Disneyland Team! (No fee is required to sign up for the Walk, however, walkers must raise a minimum of $50 by October 17th to participate in the event.) In the coming weeks, I’ll be posting info on team shirts for the walk as well as info on sponsorship opportunities, incentives for our team members, and some really great and touching articles about CHOC and the hospital’s long-standing relationship with Disneyland.

August 6, 2010 in All Posts, CHOC, disneyland resort by Lisa RobertsonChildren’s Hospital of Orange County (CHOC) is committed to the health and well-being of children through clinical expertise, advocacy, outreach and research that brings advanced treatment to pediatric patients regardless of their family’s ability to pay. Since opening its doors in 1964, CHOC has provided the highest quality medical care to children with a state-of-the-art 238 bed main hospital facility in the City of Orange, a hospital-within-a-hospital in Mission Viejo, and five community clinics — plus over 100 additional programs and services. With admissions growing by 95% since 1998, CHOC and CHOC at Mission combined rank as the 18th busiest children’s hospital in the country. CHOC also has four centers of excellence – The CHOC Children’s Heart, Cancer, Neuroscience, and Orthopaedic Institutes.
On October 17th, over 15,000 walkers will stroll through Disneyland, Disney’s California Adventure and Downtown Disney at the 20th Annual CHOC Walk in the Park. The walk takes place before the Disneyland Resort opens. That’s right Disneyland fans! Those who walk in the CHOC Walk in the Park not only get to raise money to help the countless children CHOC currently cares for and those who will need them in the future, but they get to walk through the Disneyland Resort before it opens to the public and catch glimpses of the Resort as it prepares for the day. As you walk through the Resort you’ll be joined by your favorite Disney friends – cheering you on and providing unique photo opportunities. At the end of the 5k walk, the celebration continues at Downtown Disney where event sponsors, hospital support groups, shops and restaurants have special offers for all walk participants.

I’m going to try to make it, and may bring my mom and a friend or two.
How do we register our children? (I see kids 3+ need a wristband.)
What a great idea!
THE Disneyalnd Mom says
Good question, Kim. Each entrant must register separately–even the kids. I haven’t decided if I’m going to bring all three of my kids. I don’t know if my middle son (3 in September) would be able to make the entire walk and my double stroller is way too heavy to push. 🙂

Okay, thanks! I just registered my son too. He’ll be just 3, so we’ll definitely be strollering it, but we do anyway. It’s a great family project– we’re always looking for ways to instill a sense of gratitude and goodwill towards others. 🙂
I posted this on FB too, and hopefully others will join Team BID.
Looking forward to updates!

One more question… just saw on Mouseplanet that some teams will do check in for their members, and then the morning of the walk you just meet up with your team to collect your wristband. I see you can do this pre-check in at Kia Motors before the 17th, otherwise you have to try to check in that morning. Is a group check in for Team BID possible? We are far from Irvine and Kia Motors, and would love to simplify things in the morning. Don’t know if that is possible, but throwing the question out there! Thx!
