“Jake and the Never Land Pirates: Peter Pan Returns” Review and Exclusive Giveaway

If you’ve followed Babes In Disneyland for even a short amount of time, you know that we’re big Peter Pan fans around these parts. Given that tidbit of pixie dust, you can only imagine the elation that swept over our humble abode when we found out last summer that Peter Pan would be joining Jake and his crew for an exciting adventure on Disney Junior’s Jake and the Never Land Pirates. For months, my boys have been asking when they would finally get to see the Peter Pan special and two weeks ago, we made the long trek to the Disney Studios (about three minutes from our home) to the movie’s star-studded premiere. Happily, the movie did not fall short. In fact, my boys were so delighted by it, they haven’t stopped talking about it ever since!

In the special, premiering MONDAY, FEBRUARY 13 (7:00-8:00 p.m., ET/PT) on Disney Channel, Peter Pan returns to Pirate Island to enlist Jake, Izzy, Cubby and Skully in finding his lost shadow. The episode was light, fun and full of the special lessons on team work, problems solving and friendship that parents and children have come to know and love.

The prime time special takes viewers on an adventure with Peter and the Never Land Pirates to get Peter’s shadow after he loses it while playing. Izzy, Cubby and Jake are so excited to meet Peter, that they begin to “show off” in front of him and forget that team work and not their own personal skills are what get the job done. After remembering the importance of team work, Peter and the pirate crew are able to outwit Captain Hook and his gang and get the shadow back. The story, like all Jake episodes, is lighthearted, humorous and full of music and interaction children adore.

“Jake and the Never Land Pirates: Peter Pan Returns” is a special the entire family will enjoy together. We plan on having a pirate pizza picnic in our family room next Monday to watch the special again.
