Located about a quarter of a mile from Disneyland and directly across from the Anaheim Convention Center, the Anaheim Hilton is a beautiful and luxurious hotel choice for families. The hotel recently underwent a $60 million dollar renovation and boasts contemporary design features, luxurious linens, comfortable beds, and stylish bathrooms. All rooms have a coffee maker with complimentary coffee and tee, iron and ironing board, hairdryer, flatscreen televisions, and digital connectivity panel for personal electronic devices.
We stayed at the Hilton Anaheim two different times during the month of September. Both of my stays were excellent. The staff is accommodating and polite. The hotel is very conveniently located to Disneyland (and the Convention Center), and it is as beautiful as it is comfortable. Oh, and with a Starbucks and Sbarro on the Lobby Level, how can you go wrong?
The Hilton Anaheim is the right hotel for families who want a little more than “just a place to sleep.” There’s times when I travel with the kids that’s been ok, but then there’s times when I want to stay at a hotel that still makes me feel like I’m an adult on vacation and the Hilton Anaheim does just that. It is luxurious while still accommodating the needs of families. During our first visit, my younger son threw up ALL OVER one of the queen beds in our room. The housekeeping department was at our room within thirty minutes of my call and completely cleaned the room–bathroom, bed, and all. The Hilton Anaheim has a kids’ playroom and kids’ activities.
Different each time on our visit were the rooms. For our first visit, we got a corner room with Disneyland Resort (to the right) and pool views. A corner room is clearly the way to go when requesting a room at this hotel. Our corner room had a refrigerator (a MUST for families), an extra chair because of large sitting area and enough room for our kids to run around like crazy. The second time, I returned with just one of my children and had a regular double queen room–not on a corner and no Disney view. The room was much, much smaller. It was just as clean and just as nice. It did not have a refrigerator. We checked in after 11p.m., so I really didn’t care too much about that, but next time I book a room (and I will), I will certainly request a room with a refrigerator.
Below are pictures of the two rooms with stayed in. (Sorry I’m a lousy photographer!)
The big room…
Our kids happily slept in the sitting room area of our corner room. My four-year-old loved that we pushed two chairs together and made a “chair bed.” With the boys in the sitting area, we could watch tv and then open the curtains and enjoy the 9:30 fireworks.
The smaller room (standard size but nice)…
