Holiday Time 2013 at the Disneyland Resort: Overview #disneyholidays

It’s holiday time at the Disneyland Resort and once again, the “Happiest Place on Earth” has turned into the “Merriest Place on Earth” with festive decor, special treats, Santa and Mrs. Claus, special activities for the kids and incredible holiday entertainment–all available now through January 6, 2014.

I have worked with the Disneyland Resort to produce this video featuring the very best of the Disneyland Resort this holiday season!

This week we will be posting individual posts highlighting all of the exciting adventures that await families this season at the Resort. In the meantime, here is an overview of what you can expect to experience this holiday season, links to more information on each topic and/or what day we will be posting about each topic this week!

Special Holiday-themed Attractions Old and New
Each year, the Haunted Mansion and “it’s a small world” get special holiday overlays and this year is no exception. Haunted Mansion Holiday premieres in mid October each year and lasts through early January for the holiday season. In this attraction Jack Skellington and his friends from Halloween Town take over the Haunted Mansion. “it’s a small world” Holiday, is a classic holiday transformation that embodies the beauty, harmony, joy and peace of the holiday season. This year, a new holiday-themed attraction is joining in on the fun. The Jungle Cruise has been transformed into the Jingle Cruise–complete with holiday-themed decor on the boats and in the queue and a special holiday spiel presented by those world famous Jungle Cruise skippers.

Special Events for the Entire Family
Jingle Jangle Jamboree is back for another year of fun with reindeer games, Billy Hill and the Hillbillies and much more back at Big Thunder Ranch at Disneyland during daytime hours. At night, families can “get down” with Alice, the Mad Hatter and all of the Wonderland gang at their Mad T Party holiday celebration in Hollywood Land in Disney California Adventure Park. Also in Disney California Adventure is an all-new guest experience for the holiday season: Viva Navidad! This fun and festive event takes place in and around the dining area at Boardwalk Pizza and Pasta and Paradise Garden Grill in Paradise Pier. This is one of the most exciting additions to holiday time and you can learn more about it here!

Holiday Shows for Young and Old
A Christmas Fantasy Parade is a holiday staple at Disneyland takes place daily throughout the season. Also back this year at Disneyland is “Believe…in Holiday Magic” fireworks. Click here for more photos, video and information on A Christmas Fantasy Parade.

World of Color Winter Dreams features enchanting
holiday scenes from Disney classics, plus
two of the very best scenes from Disney’s new movie,
“Frozen.”

Perhaps the biggest news of the holiday season is World of Color Winter Dreams–the new version of World of Color just for the holiday season. I’ve seen it and it is incredible!!! A Holiday edition of the street show, “Phineas and Ferb’s Rockin’ Rollin’ Dance Party,” includes festive décor, costumes and holiday tunes. The show invites guests of all ages to “seize the day,” dancing and singing on Paradise Pier with the Disney Channel’s inventive animated boy geniuses. Learn more about the show by clicking here.
