Exclusive Star Tours Information – a video you can’t see anywhere else + my review and info on Star Tours

June 5, 2011 in All Posts, attractions, disneyland, disneyland resort, star wars, tomorrowland, video by Babes in Disneyland
Anthony Daniels, the voice of C-3PO
and the only actor to appear in every
theatrical chapter of the Star Wars Saga,
reprises his role as the golden protocol droid.
Daniels worked with Walt Disney Imagineering
to record new dialogue for the attraction.

Star Tours – The Adventure Continues is the result of a fantastic partnership between Walt Disney Imagineering, Lucas Film, and Industrial Light and Magic.  Separately, the three are known for excellence in entertainment innovation and together…they are a power house to be reckoned with and have really knocked it out of the park with the new Star Tours.

If you are a fan of the original Star Tours, you will love the fact that the queue has not seen drastic changes, only very tasteful updates.  The ride cabin remains mostly the same…but then once the ride begins, get ready for a whole new adventure.

Guests board the Starspeeder 1000 spacecraft and prepare for Star Tours Flight #1401. Through a series of mishaps, however, C-3PO reluctantly  finds himself in the pilot’s seat, and it’s up to him and R2-D2 to navigate their passengers through the galaxy.

Star Tours offers guests a unique experience each time they ride with more than 50 random story combination.  Depending upon the story they experience, guests can encounter R2-D2, C-3PO, Darth Vader, Boba Fett, Yoda, Sebulba, Admiral Ackbar, Chewbacca, Jar Jar Binks, or Princess Leia.  Among the planets they may travel to are Kashyyyk, Hoth, Naboo, Coruscant, Tatooine, or The Death Star (above the planet Geonosis).

The Star Tours experience once inside the cabin is five minutes and the attraction is accessible to all guests 40 inches and taller.  In my opinion, I think the attraction is most appropriate for children 5 or 6 years old and older.  If you aren’t sure if the attraction is right for your little one and you will be attending with another adult, consider utilizing the rider switch pass.  One parent can go on and judge whether or not the attraction is appropriate for the child while the other waits.

Do you want the real inside scoop on Star Tours?  Check out my video below with Tom Fitzgerald, executive vice president and senior creative executive for Walt Disney Imagineering, and Kathy Rogers, senior show producer for Walt Disney Imagineering.  This is information and insight you won’t see anywhere else!

Also check out my video from the fan preview day of Star Tours!  It was so much fun.

I absolutely love the new Star Tours.  It is an absolute must…even if you aren’t a Star Wars fan!
