Cinderella is now out on home video, and I couldn’t be happier! I am a huge fan of this version of the 1950 Walt Disney classic. It is beautiful in every regard–from the costumes to the sets to life mantra told to Cinderella early on in the film to “have courage and be kind.”
The movie has a running time of one hour and 45 minutes, although with the “Frozen Fun” mini feature before the film, you are looking at more like two hours in the theater. The good news is that if you are having a slumber party or want to watch the movie with a group of children, there is NOTHING scary in the movie. Yes, Cate Blanchett is truly wicked as the stepmother, but she and the stepsisters will not leave any children cringing from fear.
If your princess (or prince) has been asking for a Cinderella-themed movie night, or if you are looking to take a slumber party movie night “to the next level,” we’ve got the slipper that will fit just right!
Decorations
No party is complete without decorations. Click here for our Cinderella quote printables. They can be printed on decorative paper and framed or hung in the party area.
Games and Activities
If you are having a group of children over to watch the movie, games and activities can provide some much needed downtime for party hosts. Below are some that Disney released when the movie originally came out in theaters. For some of these, you will want some heavy white card stock. (You will also probably want a FULL ink cartridge in your printer.)

In addition, if you click the link below, you will be able to print out movie bingo cards to have fun with during the movie, another beautiful maze and a really fun mouse sewing pattern easy enough for craft novices (like me).

My daughter and I absolutely loved this movie. Cinderella embodies her life mantra, “have courage and be kind.” We had an exciting Cinderella viewing party complete with princess mylar balloons (Dollar store), pastel blue cupcakes adorned with princess sprinkles, and we decorated the room with designs we created together using my Silhouette machine. We had a blast! The best movie nights involve bringing Disney right into your own living room!
