Disneyland Resort and it is truly spectacular. The show, which will be dazzling audiences through January 6, takes place on Paradise Bay brings together fresh new music, holiday classics, iconic holiday scenes and images from Disney and Pixar classics and the beauty and fun of Disney’s newest animated film, “Frozen.”
Below is the full show, shot by our friends over at DAPS Magic. After you watch the show, scroll down and learn more about this new show and what it takes to bring it to life!
It’s All About the Fountains: What would “World of Color Winter Dreams” (or the original version of the show) be without those incredible water fountains? Without those beautiful, swaying, dancing and punctuating sprays of water, “World of Color” just wouldn’t be the same. I was given the opportunity to interview the show’s fountain designer and I am thrilled to share it with you below!
The Host: Olaf, the host of the show is the lovable snowman from “Frozen.” If you don’t already love him just because of his obvious cuteness, you will absolutely adore him after you see the movie. (My review will be up soon!)

New Animation: While the casual observer may think that the animation used in the “World of Color” is pulled directly from Disney films, it is, in fact, completely redrawn just for the show, as shown in this video:
The same goes for Pixar animation!
Notable Voices: Broadway stars Heather Headley, Josh Gad and Idina Menzel lend their incredible talents to the show, as does a large choir of singers from all 50 United States who appear in the “Glow” carol, which opens the show. The participants signed up on a special “World of Color” Honor
Choir website, operated by the Disneyland Resort and Grammy®-winning composer Eric Whitacre, who has joined hundreds of voices online in “virtual choirs” that feature singers performing in front of their computer webcams. Other Disney fans designed holiday cards online to appear in a “World of Color – Winter Dreams” sequence celebrating the spirit of the season.

My Thoughts: I love this version of “World of Color” so much; in fact, I love it much more than the original. Personally, I’m not a fan of the “darker” moments in the original and the holiday version is nothing but merry, bright and lots of fun. My kids typically go to bed early, which makes nighttime shows a bit difficult for us, but “World of Color – Winter Dreams” is worth a cranky kiddo the next day. The show is appropriate for children of all ages but my three-year-old struggled to sit through the entire show, so I think it might be best for kids four and older (but do note my little one typically has ants in his pants, so maybe that’s just him).
But wait, there’s more! Come back to the blog this Friday for a post full of even more fun facts and figures all about “World of Color – Winter Dream.”
