I know the question that is on every parent’s mind each time a Disneynature film comes out:
Is Chimpanzee appropriate for young children?
In my opinion, the answer is yes and no. I would say the movie is best for children age 6 and older but having the movie on DVD means it can really be watched by a child of any age thanks to the fastforward button! My two-year-old and four-year-old laughed out loud at many of Oscar’s antics. When the film got to an intense scene with fighting or hunting among the chimps, I simply skipped ahead to a lighter scene.
Here is one of the super cute clips from the film that little ones and parents will love (and relate to!):
Chimpanzee is available online and at retailers across the country. the DVD is packed with great extras and would be a great addition to any Disney-driven home, especially folks who home school and are looking for educational content on animal life in the wild.
