For the last year, my boys and I have been on the hunt for Peter Pan. We have done everything possible to find him. We’ve asked at the info board, asked character hosts, spoke with “behind-the-scenes” Cast Members…you name it. It has been nothing short of a labor of love to make my son Brandon’s dreams come true. If you are a regular reader, you know that my son Brandon is beyond obsessed with Peter Pan. He eats, breathes, sleeps, dresses, and recites Peter Pan all day long. I knew I had to make this meeting happen.
Finally, in the heat of the day at 2:40, Peter Pan AND Wendy appeared from Never Land, as if in a dream. My boys and I went running to him and Wendy like crazy tweens after Justin Beiber.
Although Brandon has been yearning to meet his hero for the longest time, he seemed a bit overwhelmed to actually meet him in person. He seemed so nervous, he could barely crack a smile or look him in the eye. Nonetheless, Peter Pan sensed Brandon’s admiration and immediately pulled him to sit on his lap when Wendy told the children Peter Pan’s stories.
Wendy told the children all of her favorite Peter Pan stories. |

After story time was over, Peter, Wendy, and the children engaged in a fun game of hide and seak.
When Hide and Seek was over, Peter and Wendy took pictures with all of the children but took time out to spend time with Brandon. Brandon and Peter discussed their abilities to fly and fight Captain Hook.
Peter even let Brandon try out the very same knife he used to fight Captain Hook.
Brandon even showed off his muscles.
The entire experience with Peter Pan and Wendy was nothing short of magical. I was choking back tears and swallowing down the lump in my throat the entire time. Brandon has been talking about his best friend Peter nonstop ever since. He has asked repeatedly if Peter can have another play date with him. It’s just darling.
Making Brandon’s dream come true is one of those unique and wonderful experiences that can only happen at Disney Parks and a moment in time that I will cherish all of my days. I am so incredibly thankful that Disneyland is such a big part of my children’s lives.

Very magical indeed! Love it, the story, the photos, all of it. It warms my heart too as a parent. So so great! 🙂

That is so awesome… that, to me, is what this park is all about. When people gripe about prices or lines or crowds… I just think of these kind of special moments that can be had in no other way and no other place.
And p.s. – that Peter Pan has been working Disneyland for a while now, he’s a good one!

That is an absolutely awesome story! Thanks so much for sharing your magical experience with us. I don’t think I’ve ever got to chat with Peter & Wendy though I have run into Hook quite a few times. Very cool.

Just “darling” tee hee. 😉 For my girl it was always Alice and the Hatter. Fortunately they are easier to find. Check out Musical Chairs at Coke Corner each day at 2:30 to see Wonderland. I love DL so much more than WDW because of these magical moments.
