Disney Junior is kicking off summer with fun, interactive events themed around the hit cable TV series “Jake and the Never Land Pirates.” The “Jake and the Never Land Pirates: Summer Adventures” family events will be hosted by Radio Disney at over 25 malls nationwide from June 23 to July 1.
Kids and families are invited to take part in a pirate adventure and collect gold doubloons (the series’ signature treasure) by completing activities. Kids will receive “Jake and the Never Land Pirates” bandanas and treasure maps before setting out on a variety of interactive activities, including creating treasure chests, coloring Pirate Pal sheets, posing for a Never Land photo opportunity, and playing a “Look for Hook” game, where kids will search for Captain Hook decals placed throughout the mall. The Radio Disney Road Crew will be there giving away Disney Junior-themed prizes and inviting kids to sing and dance to popular songs from their favorite Disney Junior shows like “Jake and the Never Land Pirates,” “Doc McStuffins” and “Mickey Mouse Clubhouse.”

There will also be a special viewing area for families to watch episodes of “Jake and the Never Land Pirates” and “Doc McStuffins,” which both air daily during Disney Channel’s Disney Junior programming block and on the new 24-hour Disney Junior channel. “Jake and the Never Land Pirates” is an animated adventure series that follows a crew of kid pirates on their Never Land adventures as they work to outwit Captain Hook and Smee, two infamous characters from Disney’s classic “Peter Pan.” “Doc McStuffins,” an animated series that debuted this year for kids age 2 to 7, will return for a second season on Disney Channel and Disney Junior. It features a little girl named Dottie “Doc” McStuffins who can talk to and heal stuffed animals and toys in her playhouse clinic. Disney will introduce “Doc McStuffins” books, apparel, party goods, and role play toys, dolls and accessories beginning this summer through early 2013. A “Doc McStuffins” DVD will be released on August 21.
