With yet another announcement this week about a Disneyland Resort staple going and a new attraction coming to take it’s place, it seems like a good time to lay out a map of what and when things are going and coming so we can all make our visiting plans accordingly! Like Walt himself said, “Disneyland will never be completed. It will continue to grow as long as there is imagination left in the world.” And it seems like there is plenty of that going around because there is just so much change is happening at the Disneyland Resort right now between the Pixar Pier / Pixar Fest newness and now the Bye-Bye Bug’s Land / Hello Marvel Super Heroes Land (actual name TBD)!
Here’s what we know about what is Coming & Going this year and beyond:
-
GOING: “a bug’s land”
A Bug’s Land isn’t going away until late summer (exact closing: TBD) although “It’s Tough To Be A Bug” is gone as of 3/19/18. But this land won’t just be getting a refurb, or a rethemeing, it will be completely removed to make room for…

All of those games, shops, and food stops will still be there but will be completely redone to fit the Pixar theme and from some pictures Disney shared, they look like they will be ah-mazing (coming 6/23/18).

GOING: Aladdin’s Oasis
Lately this little hidden gem in between the Jungle Cruise and the Tiki Room in Adventureland was simply a quiet spot to sit and rest, or sometimes find a character or two, but perhaps unbeknownst to many much of Aladdin’s Oasis has been boarded off for years, but it’s all going away now, and for good reason. (gone 2018 – it appears the Companion Restroom in his area will remain open, for now at least)
-
COMING: The Tropical Hideaway
Finally, Adventureland will be getting their own sit-down dining location! It sounds like the perfect thing for the typically crowded land, with the perfect theme to fit in with it’s neighbors. (coming TBD)
