Starting Friday, November 10 (through January 7, 2018), the holidays begin at the Disneyland Resort, with an assortment of fan favorites and new holiday offerings for the whole family to enjoy! From seasonal attraction overlays, enchanting decor and delicious themed treats for the entire family, you will definitely want to check out all the festive fun that make the season bright at one of our favorite times of the year!
At Disneyland Park
Guests can enjoy the return of many seasonal favorites that the Happiest Place on Earth can offer! Visit the iconic Sleeping Beauty’s Winter Castle, which is decked out with 50,000 LED lights and serves as the perfect backdrop “Believe…in Holiday Magic” fireworks show, which always ends with magical snowfall!
Snap a photo in front of Disneyland’s 60-foot Christmas tree, and be sure to check out daily performances of “A Christmas Fantasy” parade, where Disney favorites join Santa Claus to spread holiday cheer.
For family portraits with the big man himself, visit Santa Claus at his special location in Critter Country!
Of course, we love checking out the beautiful “it’s a small world” Holiday overlay and we are excited to share that a FastPass will be available for this attraction!
Lastly, don’t forget to stop by and visit Jack Skellington and friends at the Haunted Mansion Holiday – where Halloween and Christmas collide!
At Disney California Adventure
Over at Disney California Adventure, the park features a stunning 50-foot Christmas tree that features vintage ornaments and complement the old-fashioned seasonal decorations on the 1920’s-inspired Buena Vista Street.
Guests can expect the return of the popular “Festival of Holidays” – a celebration of diverse cultural festivities inspired by Christmas/Navidad, Hannukah, Diwali, Kwanzaa, and Three Kings Day. Also returning for the Festival of Holidays are the performing groups such as Mostly Kosher, Blue13 Dance company and the Holiday Toy Drummers.
We look forward to the new Holiday Sunset Concerts, fun dance parties featuring performing groups like Phat Cat Swinger on Fridays-Mondays and the Mariachi Divas from Tuesday-Thursday.
The Festive Foods Marketplace also makes a return to the Festival of Holidays, serving multicultural holiday foods at marketplace kiosks scattered throughout the park. Guests can expect a range of foods, from beef corn tamales, to braised lamb cheeks. We are hoping that the miniature Yule log makes its reappearance!
Disney’s “Viva Navidad!” also makes a lively return, featuring authentic music, dance, decor, crafts and a special meet and greet by Disney characters, including Princess Elena of Avalor!
The residents of Radiator Springs will decorate for “Seasons Speedings” along Route 66, but new for this year, two Cars Land attractions will get their own holiday overlay: Luigi’s Rollickin’ Roadsters becomes Luigi’s Joy to the Whirl and Mater’s Junkyard Jamboree becomes Mater’s Jingle Jamboree – and you’ll get to hear Luigi and Mater sing seasonal tunes to ring in the holiday spirit!
Disney California Adventure will also welcome back the nighttime spectacular “World of Color – Season of Light.” Check out a snippet from last year’s show here!
