October 15, 2013 in All Posts, disney at home, disneyland, Jessica, recipes
Hooray for pumpkin season! It’s my favorite time of the year! I’ve been hanging onto this recipe for a long time now, saving it for just such an occasion. The cream-filled pumpkin muffin is one of my favorite treats to get when I’m visiting the resort (along with a pumpkin spice latte of course). It really needs no introduction, so without further ado… Disneyland Resort Cream Filled Pumpkin Muffin (Original Recipe) Yield: 32 muffins Ingredients: Pumpkin puree: 4 lbs. Granulated sugar: 3 lbs. Ask the Disney Experts: Favorite Sit-Down Restaurant in DCA
October 14, 2013 in All Posts, Ask the Disney Expert, disney california adventure, disneyland resort, Jessica, restaurant tips, Tips & Tricks for Families
This week, we were asked what our favorite sit-down restaurant in Disney California Adventure is, and why… “Carthay Circle Restaurant is my favorite table-service dining location in Disney California Adventure Park. I’m always star-struck by the 1930s-Hollywood atmosphere of this elegant restaurant. It’s on the second floor of Disney’s reproduction of Carthay Circle Theatre, where Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs (my favorite classic Disney film!) premiered, so the much of the restaurant’s décor pays homage to the film and Walt Disney himself. I like to start my meal with the Carthay Signature Fried Biscuits, which are stuffed with white cheddar,...
Fun Fact Friday: Unexpected Names
October 11, 2013 in All Posts, disneyland, fun facts, Randy, Tips & Tricks for Families
o If there’s one thing you can’t miss at Disneyland, it’s nametags. Of course, all the Cast Members wear them. Many ride vehicles have names painted on them (think Jungle Cruise, Snow White‘s Scary Adventure, Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride, the Disneyland Railroad, etc.). But here are three places you may not expect to find names: 1. Tilly – In front of the Main Street Cinema is a ticket booth, and inside that booth is a “ticket seller” figure named Tilly. Have you ever noticed her nametag when you walked by (or better, went in)? The Imagineers didn’t have to...

Now you can share one of your favorite childhood movies with your little ones! Somebody is excited about what just arrived! If you’re a 30-something mom like me (or dad!) who loves Disney, then this movie probably defines your childhood in some way or another. Recipe for Disneyland’s Pumpkin Beignets, Baking Tips from a Disneyland Chef & Yummy Treats Available at #HalloweenTime
October 7, 2013 in All Posts, dining, disney at home, recipes
Halloween Time is yummy treat time at the Disneyland Resort. Between the pumpkin beignets and Mickey bat cookies, there’s a lot to love this time of year when it comes as sweet treats. While there are a variety of special cookies, cupcakes available throughout Disneyland and Disney California Adventure.Back this year are the demitasse pumpkin cups, which this year are filled with pumpkin and chocolate mouse. Another guest (and favorite of mine) are the Mickey bat cookies. I love them because they are so yummy, not overly sweet and very portable. I like my treats easy to eat on...
Phineas and Ferb: Mission Marvel DVD Review
October 4, 2013 in All Posts, marvel, movies, product review
My boys love super heroes…and Phineas and Ferb, so when I heard that “Phineas and Ferb: Mission Marvel” was coming out on DVD, I knew this movie was a good match for my three little men. You see, after Dr. Doofenshmirtz’s latest “-inator” scheme accidentally removes the powers of some very well-known Marvel Super Heroes (Spider-Man, Iron Man, Thor, and Hulk), the heroes enter the world of Danville and team up with Phineas and Ferb to relocate their powers, defeat the Marvel Super Villains (Red Skull, MODOK, Whiplash and Venom). Together, the Marvel Super Heroes and Phineas and Ferb...

My husband, father-in-law, and nephew on an October trip to Disneyland a few years ago. My Terrific Tip Tuesday: Bring your poncho to the park! Stay dry and comfortable all day without having to give up your favorite laughing place! Once upon a time it rained while we were visiting the parks and we purchased these Disneyland Resort ponchos to stay dry. On a return trip we packed them up in case of rain, and brought them along again. Well, when it came time for us to take a trip down Splash Mountain, but the weather wasn’t quite right...
49-second tour of the new Market House on Main Street at Disneyland
October 1, 2013 in All Posts, dining, disneyland, main street
The Market House has reopened and it is HUGE! The new space takes up the original Market House and the old Disneyana Shop. Much like the Fiddler, Fife and Practical Cafe in Disney California Adventure, the Market House is now a Starbucks featuring Disney-made treats and food. The new coffee shop is incredibly spacious with a nice selection of treats and snacks and a (small) lovely sitting area toward the back to the right. I was a huge fan of the old Market House. I have so many fond memories of grabbing a coffee with my dad and enjoying its charming, warm...
Ask the Disney Experts: Best Attractions to Experience with Kids in Disney California Adventure Park
September 30, 2013 in All Posts, Ask the Disney Expert, attraction tips, Big Kids, disney california adventure, Jessica, Tips & Tricks for Families
This week, we were asked what our favorite attraction is to ride with kids in Disney California Adventure, and why… “My favorite attraction to ride with kids in Disney California Adventure Park is Monsters, Inc. Mike and Sulley to the Rescue! in Hollywood Land. There’s no minimum height requirement, so our whole family can enjoy it together. After boarding a taxi cab for a tour of the monster city, Mike and Sully lead us on an adventure through the familiar landmarks of Monstropolis as they return Boo to her bedroom, all the while dodging C.D.A. Agents and that sneaky chameleon,...
