Walt Disney World for Disneylanders: Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party at the Magic Kingdom
December 5, 2013 in All Posts, christmas, vy, walt disney world
Have you celebrated the holidays at the Walt Disney Resort before? As a Disneyland regular, I was extremely excited to get the opportunity to attend Walt Disney World’s “Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party” celebration at the Magic Kingdom. This private, ticketed event (similar to Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party at the Disneyland Resort) occurs after regular Park guests have left for the evening. Guests with admission to Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party get to experience extra hours in The Magic Kingdom, enjoy a Christmas parade and gaze in amazement at the snowfall on Main Street. Select attractions and...

App Review – “Sofia the First: The Floating Palace” App
November 29, 2013 in All Posts, babies & toddlers, Jessica, product review
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, my kids (well, really the whole family) are HUGE fans of all things Disney Junior – my daughter especially is into the Disney Junior animated series “Sofia the First.” Sofia recently debuted her very own prime-time special entitled “Sofia the First: The Floating Palace” in which Sofia is magically transformed into a mermaid and underwater adventures ensue. (Fun tie-in: Ariel, the Little Mermaid herself, is also a featured character!) What with us being stuck inside basically all the time, now that it’s dark early and literally freezing outside here in Idaho – I (oh...

New Animated Disney Junior Series Coming: “Sheriff Callie’s Wild West”
in All Posts, babies & toddlers, disney junior, Jessica
Disney Junior is our family’s go-to channel when the kids get to enjoy a little restful TV time. Not only do both of my kids (ages 2 and 4-almost-5) love shows like “Mickey Mouse Clubhouse”, “Doc McStuffins”, “Octonauts”, and “Jake and the Neverland Pirates” – but as a parent, I do too! The shows are cute, fun, entertaining – and most importantly for me, they teach great lessons. I’m pretty sure my daughter learned how to count to ten from Jake, and that my son knows more about marine life than I do from watching the Octonauts (which he...

Between holiday travel and the sun going down so early, there are a few more videos being watched these days at our house, and just in time for all that video watching is a new DVD from Disney Junior, “Jake and the Never Land Pirates: Never Land Rescue.” In this title episode, Jake embarks on a heroic mission to save the magic of Never Land as the ancient Forever Tree seems to be fading away. To save the tree, Jake must has to break off from the rest of his crew and go alone on a mission to save...
Ask the Disney Experts: Favorite Thing About Christmastime at the Disneyland Resort
in All Posts, Ask the Disney Expert, christmas, disney california adventure, disneyland, disneyland resort
This week, we were asked what our favorite thing about Christmastime at the Disneyland Resort is… “It’s a tie between the snowfall at the end of the Holiday Magic Fireworks show with “White Christmas” playing and all the amazing holiday treats and goodies. I think eating a gingerbread man while watching the fireworks would be as good as it gets for me!” “My favorite thing about the Disneyland Resort during Christmastime is the decor. Seeing the holiday themed windows, twinkle lights, fresh poinsettias, and beautifully decorated Christmas trees throughout the Park really gets me into the spirit of the...
“Frozen,” the lastest film from the Walt Disney Studios will be out in theaters this Thursday. I recently saw it with all three of my children (ages, 3, 6 and 8) and all four of us loved it and I know that if you are a Disney fan, you’ll love it too. The story follows the relationship between two sisters–one of which is slated to be the queen and has the unfortunate “gift” of being able to freeze things and make it snow. This power creates a divide between the two princesses, Elsa and Anna, all in the hopes...
An introduction to Disney ¡Viva Navidad! Celebration
November 21, 2013 in All Posts, disney california adventure, vy
There’s a new celebration happening at The Disneyland Resort for the holidays and it’s called ¡Viva Navidad! – a festive holiday presentation inspired by the warmth and spirit of Latino culture. The celebration began on November 15, 2013 and the grand finale of the celebration will be The Disneyland Resort’s Three Kings Day (Dia de los Reyes) celebration from January 3, 2014 – January 6, 2014 – featuring holiday treats such as the traditional Rosca des Reyes bread. Some of your favorite Disney characters will make appearances at Disney ¡Viva Navidad!, dressed in festive attire – including The Three...
