Why I don’t hate “Frozen” and you shouldn’t either.

November 9, 2014 in All Posts, babies & toddlers, Big Kids, boys, christmas, disney california adventure, disneyland, disneyland resort, girls, holidays
I couldn’t have been more surprised by the responses I got on Facebook to my post about all of the “Frozen” additions to holiday time at the Disneyland Resort. Although I figured the post would be met with enthusiasm and excitement by many happy parents, I never thought it would be met with disappointment by “Frozen” haters.  Apparently, unbeknownst to me, there are people (a lot of people according to a friend of mine), who greatly dislike the “Frozen” phenomenon. I literally had no idea that anyone would actually have an opinion so strong about an animated movie for...

Gerber Graduates: Easy Go-to Snacks for Families

November 8, 2014 in All Posts, babies & toddlers, Tips & Tricks for Families, Travel Tips
There are certain things I NEVER headed to the Disneyland Resort without when my kids were babies and toddlers–diapers, wipes, sippy cups and Gerber Graduates. For toddlers and preschoolers, Gerber Graduates are meals and snacks in a flash, and all parents know that when kids announce that they’re hungry, they need to eat immediately. Lines for food can be long on busy days and having Gerber Graduates in my bag means I’m able to provide the kids something to eat quickly.    The Gerber Graduates meals are precooked and can be served right out of the package or heated...

On Friday, November 7, the Disneyland Resort announced that the holidays will be getting a little more “Frozen” this year with two special additions to the yearly yuletide entertainment lineup. (You can read an overview of what to expect Resort-wide by clicking here.) Anna and Elsa will be joining “A Christmas Fantasy” parade and its cast of more than 100 Disney characters and performers that includes Mickey, Minnie and a variety of other movie characters like the princesses, the Toy Story gang and many more. The parade is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year and I am definitely looking...

Haunted Mansion Holiday is an annual guest favorite at the Disneyland Resort. It ushers in Halloween Time and remains through the holiday season into early January. If you are a Nightmare Before Christmas fan, this attraction is not to be missed. If you are a fan of the attraction, I think you are going to love all of these fun facts about this year’s Haunted Mansion Holiday attraction. 1. More than 400 flickering candles and 100 jack-o-lanterns decorate the façade of the Haunted Mansion.  2. Jack Skellington and his ghost dog Zero appear in a fully animated sequence on...

Toy Story 4: It’s gonna happen!

in All Posts
Today, John Lasseter, Disney and Pixar announced that the toys will be back in town for a fourth movie in 2017. The story was dreamt up by Lasseter, Andrew Stanton, Pete Docter and Lee Unkrich, the storytellers who have been the driving force behind all three “Toy Story” films. “We love these characters so much; they are like family to us,” said Lasseter. “We don’t want to do anything with them unless it lives up to or surpasses what’s gone before. ‘Toy Story 3’ ended Woody and Buzz’s story with Andy so perfectly that for a long time, we...

November 6, 2014 in All Posts, christmas, disney at home, disneyland, halloween, holidays, recipes
By now, you may have already seen my Youtube video tutorial for making Disneyland’s delicious pumpkin twists. They are indeed so very yummy, and while I shot it during Halloween Time of 2014, it is still one of my all-time Disneyland favorites year round. PLUS, they are super easy to make–especially for people like me who aren’t exactly gifted in the kitchen. They are perfect at home as a snack or are delicious with a cup of coffee in the morning. So, without further ado, here is the recipe for Disneyland’s Pumpkin Twists and video tutorial shot with one...
