We can almost taste it!  Registration for Disney Wine & Dine Half Marathon Weekend opens this Tuesday, March 17th at Noon EST and there are many, many reasons why Disneyland fans will want to examine this race “menu” closely.   The uniqueness of this runDisney weekend makes it particularly delectable!  Check your reservation book and pencil in November 6, 7 and 8, 2015; here is why: 1.  Run through not one, not two, but three Disney Parks: Epcot, Disney’s Hollywood Studios and Disney’s Animal Kingdom.  You won’t get your moment running through a castle, but you will get maximum...

Everything You Need to Know About Extra Magic Hours at the Disneyland Resort

in All Posts, Cars Land, disney california adventure, disneyland, disneyland hotel, disneyland resort, grand californian, Kendra, paradise pier hotel, radiator springs racers, Tips & Tricks for Families
Here at the Babes in Disneyland Blog I’m affectionately known as the Contributor who holds the record for the most on-property stays, a distinction for which I am quite proud.  🙂  There are several reasons that I prefer to stay at one of the Disneyland Resort hotels including:  quick and easy access to the parks, excellent service, and the extra magical Disney theming throughout the lobby, grounds (pools), and rooms.  All of the before mentioned reasons aside, my absolute favorite on-site perk is the opportunity to get into Disneyland and Disney’s California Adventure Park (DCA) one hour before the general public.   What...

13 fun facts and secrets about the costumes worn in the movie Cinderella

in All Posts, Disney entertainment, movies
The costumes in “Cinderella” are beyond breathtaking and along with the acting and set design really bring the movie to life. Here are some interesting facts about the costumes from actors Lily James (Cinderella) and Richard Madden (the Prince, AKA “Kit”) and costume designer Sandy Powell. When it came to designing Cinderella’s ball gown, Powell says her primary concern was the dress’ movement. The dress would be featured in the iconic moments of Lily James dancing at the ball and running from the castle at the stroke of midnight. The dress needed to float behind her as she ran...

My Cinderella Dream Come True #JCPenneyCinderellaMoment

March 10, 2015 in All Posts, Disney entertainment, movies
Everyone needs a Cinderella moment once in their life: a moment in which the stressors of life melt away and your realize that fairy tales really can come true. For me, that moment was Sunday, March 1. Before I tell you about my Cinderella moment, maybe it’s time to talk about why it came just at the right time. Early last November, one of my children became very ill. He was out of school for a month. We lived at doctors’ appointments and the poor kid received diagnostic tests and imaging from every direction as we worked to find a...

Indiana Jones Adventure Celebrates 20 Years! A Disneyland Annual Passholder Event

March 8, 2015 in All Posts, disneyland, disneyland resort, legacy annual pass
On March 3, 1995, one of the most innovative attractions made its soft opening debut at the Disneyland Resort.  The Indiana Jones Adventure! brought the cinematic excitement of the Indiana Jones’ films and combined them with the imagination of Walt Disney Imagineering.  The end result? A thrill-inducing ride through the Temple of Mara that has delighted generations of Disneyland Resort for 20 years! In celebration its 20th anniversary, Disneyland Annual Passholders were invited to register for an after-hours event at Disneyland, which was first-come, first-serve.  APs were given the opportunity to explore Adventureland, Frontierland, and New Orleans Square long after regular Park Guests had...

Innoventions to close March 31

March 7, 2015 in All Posts, attractions, boys, disneyland, disneyland resort, tomorrowland
Disney has announced that Disneyland’s Innoventions building in Tomorrowland will close on March 31. Today, it is home to wonderful Marvel meet and greets with Thor and Captain America and an interactive Ironman exhibit. It also features product placement interactive exhibts sponsored by Honda, among others. I, for one, will miss taking my boys to Innoventions, but I am beyond excited with the hope that it will become Stark Expo or the Death Star. What do you hope Innoventions will become?

Terrific Tip Tuesday: Taking Secondhand Strollers to Disneyland

March 3, 2015 in All Posts, saving money, Tips & Tricks for Families, Travel Tips, what to pack
Hello Disney Friends! Today I have a handy tip to share with you – it worked amazingly well for me the last time my family was at Disneyland, and I hope some of you may find it helpful too. Here it is: Take secondhand strollers to Disneyland for your preschoolers! My kiddos were 2 (almost 3) and 5 last time we went – in their preschool prime. They are getting bigger obviously, and at home we don’t use strollers much anymore – they are growing out of the baby ones we have and just not needing them as often....

Disneyland Annual Passholder Anniversary Event: A Royal Celebration

February 25, 2015 in All Posts, disneyland, disneyland resort, legacy annual pass, vy
Cinderella Magnet 2014 marked the first year The Disneyland Resort started hosting “anniversary parties” for Annual Passholders that had passes set to expire in the near future.  The purpose of these events is to thank the APs for purchasing a year of Disney magic, and to also encourage them to renew their pass by showing them unique experiences that they otherwise wouldn’t get without being an AP.  I believe this celebration was targeted towards people whose passes were expiring in April. With my pass expiration date being at the end of March, I qualifed to receive an invitation-by-mail (addressed to “The Spear...
