Special interview with Tomorrowland actors Raffey Cassidy and Thomas Robinson

October 2, 2015 in All Posts, Disney entertainment, disney home entertainment
Dreamers come in all shapes and sizes–big and small, young and old. In the case of Raffey Cassidy and Thomas Robinson, they’re dreams to act came at an early age and landed them in the movie that epitomizes the dreams of dreamers: Tomorrowland. I recently got to sit down with the two actors and find out more about their time working on the film and their own dreams. Born in England, Raffey, at the young age of 13 already has an impressive credit list including Universal Pictures “Snow White and the Huntsman,” opposite Charlize Theron, Kristen Stewart and Chris Hemsworth, and...

Character Dining Review- Goofy’s Kitchen

September 30, 2015 in All Posts, babes in disneyland, celebrations, character dining, characters, dining, disneyland, disneyland hotel, disneyland resort, Kendra, restaurant tips, saving money
It’s so hard to believe that I wrote my original Goofy’s Kitchen review over three years ago.  And while so much has changed including my kiddos, the decor, and the character offerings, one thing remains the same–we still love Goofy’s Kitchen! Goofy’s Kitchen’s unique combination of whimsical decor, fun music, tasty food, and character interactions is ideal for all ages, families, and large groups.  Although Goofy’s Kitchen is located at the Disneyland Hotel you do not have to be a hotel guest to dine there. Its close proximity to Downtown Disney’s Monorail Station and neighboring hotels makes it an excellent...

Disney Movies Anywhere: A First Timer’s Guide for iOS Users

September 29, 2015 in All Posts, Disney entertainment, disney home entertainment
Home video is one of those areas of technology that is constantly changing and evolving. With VHS cassettes and laser disks far in the past, the present and future of home video viewing is live streaming titles you purchase that are hosted in online for convenient viewing on demand. I have to admit, I have an enviable DVD collection. My husband loves movies and… well… let’s just say that DVDs are a perk to running a Disney blog. Recently, Disney encouraged me to try out Disney Movies Anywhere. I was given a free download of the movie “Avengers: Age of...

Exposing children to new life experiences is important for so many reasons. Whether it is trips to the zoo, Disneyland or a museum like the Discovery Cubes in Los Angeles or Orange County, finding meaningful ways to provide children with valuable experiences can not only create lasting memories but give them a leg up in school. The Discovery Cube Los Angeles’ EcoChallenge is one of those life experiences in which young children (and even children already in school) learn valuable lessons that go far beyond having fun. The Eco Challenge is a wonderful, award winning exhibit sponsored by LA...

Starting January 11, 2016, Disneyland will temporarily close several iconic attractions in order to begin construction for its Star Wars-themed land and permanently close one of our favorite locations, Big Thunder Ranch. Top 5 Reasons to Stay in the Park After Dark

September 21, 2015 in All Posts, babies & toddlers, Cars Land, disney california adventure, disneyland, disneyland resort, fantasmic, fireworks
It has recently come to my attention that there are actually people who don’t stay in the park from open to close! Maybe this is a non-Annual-Passholder thing, or maybe it’s because I’m an out-of-towner, or maybe it’s just me, but I was shocked. My family makes use of every last ounce of our park tickets, which makes for long days and late nights, and we aren’t sorry about it one bit.  I get it though, especially with babies and small children (sometimes regular sized children) – they get extra tired and cranky when bedtime comes and goes and there you...

Everything You Need for a Cinderella Movie Night

September 18, 2015 in All Posts, Disney entertainment, disney home entertainment, movies
Cinderella is now out on home video, and I couldn’t be happier! I am a huge fan of this version of the 1950 Walt Disney classic. It is beautiful in every regard–from the costumes to the sets to life mantra told to Cinderella early on in the film to “have courage and be kind.” The movie has a running time of one hour and 45 minutes, although with the “Frozen Fun” mini feature before the film, you are looking at more like two hours in the theater. The good news is that if you are having a slumber party...
