Tomorrowland Questions Answered By Brad Bird

in All Posts, Disney entertainment, disney home entertainment
Recently, I had the opportunity to interview Tomorrowland director at a special media event for the movie’s home video release. We talked about his career and the movie itself. Much like the characters in Tomorrowland, Bird is a dreamer. He had a dream for his career and a dream for Tomorrowland. Question: You started doing creative this really young. What was your inspiration? Why did you go the creative route? Bird: “I don’t think you choose it, I think it chooses you. I was blessed with really great parents who, didn’t want to interfere with it… When I started doing a...

6 Little Known Facts and Stories About Aladdin As Told By Animator Eric Goldberg

October 9, 2015 in All Posts, animation, Disney entertainment, disney home entertainment
A couple of weeks ago I had the privilege and honor to attend a special event in which legendary animator Eric Goldberg talked about bringing the Genie from Aladdin to life. I almost died. I couldn’t have never dreamed of adding something this incredible to my Disney Bucket List, but it happened, and let me tell you, it was one of my favorite Disney days… ever. (And I’ve had some pretty spectacular opportunities.) When we arrived at the Disney Studio, I made sure to be first in the room so that I could sit right up front. Then he...

Disneyland Halloween Time Merchandise Must-Haves

October 8, 2015 in All Posts, disneyland resort, halloween, holidays, shopping tips
It’s Halloween Time at Disneyland and while for many it’s time to ride Haunted Mansion Holiday, for some of us it’s time to SHOP! Recently, I interviewed Disneyland merchandise spokesperson, Ashley, about some of the great new (and returning) Halloween merchandise available at the Disneyland Resort right now. As you can see, there are a lot of really great pieces in stores right now. With so much great merchadise in every nook and cranny of the parks, I thought it might be helpful for me to put together a list of our favorite plush, home decor items, hats, popcorn buckets...

The Innovation and Drive of Disney Dreamers

October 6, 2015 in All Posts
Disney dreamers are people with innovation and vision. They make things happen and aren’t afraid to take a less than direct path to make “it” happen. Recently I sat down with two Disney dreamers to learn about their paths. Charita Carter is senior creative producer and development manager of the Walt Disney Imagineering Scenic Illusion Team.  The Scenic Illusion Team is an application and integration team focused on developing new tools and techniques to supply Imagineers who designer theme park attractions with new and expanded capabilities for storytelling. Under her management, the Scenic Illusion Team has been awarded in...

Experience Disney Magic and Make a Difference by Participating in the CHOC Walk #chocwalk

October 5, 2015 in All Posts, disneyland resort
CHOC Children’s is a regional pediatric health care system that includes two hospitals, many primary and specialty care clinics, and four clinical centers of excellence – the CHOC Children’s Heart, Neuroscience, Orthopaedic and Hyundai Cancer Institutes. Walt Disney was a champion for CHOC and was even on the hospital’s first board of directors more than 50 years ago. Today, the Disneyland Resort continues to stay very involved with CHOC through the Disneyland Resort Patient and Family Lobby featuring the Disney California Adventure Park attraction Turtle Talk With Crush twice daily for patients and their siblings, frequent character visits, and of course, presenting CHOC “Walk in...

That one time I turned into a Haunted Mansion bust… to talk about Halloween Time at Disneyland

October 4, 2015 in All Posts, disneyland, disneyland resort, halloween, holidays, vacation planning, video
I have had a lot of interesting and cool things happen to me since I started Babes In Disneyland in 2007, but this is pretty much the most unique experience I’ve ever had! For a brief moment in time, I became part of the 999 happy haunts in the Haunted Mansion. Not only was it fun, but it was very, very informative! In the video below, my new BFF, Lionel, and I discuss what’s new for Haunted Mansion Holiday, as well as some other fun going on right now for Halloween Time and the Disneyland Diamond Celebration.

New Disneyland Annual Passport Prices and Information on Signature Annual Passports (as of October 4, 2015)

in All Posts, disneyland resort, legacy annual pass, vacation planning
Much to our surprise, Disneyland annual passport prices went up this morning. The Disneyland ticketing site went down and the internet lit up. Usually there are quiet grumblings before prices go up, but this one caught us off guard. Because many of our readers are annual pass holders, I wanted to get this information up on the web as soon as possible. I will post about other ticket media as soon as I can. Southern California Select: $329 (up $30). Blockout dates apply to this pass. Passholders can get 10% off Resort dining and merchandise in the parks, in on-property...
