A little bit of everything about the Storybook Land Canal Boats

June 2, 2017 in All Posts, attractions, disneyland, disneyland resort, fantasyland, fun facts
When Disneyland opened in 1955, Walt Disney premiered the attraction Canal Boats of the World. The attraction was based upon the many colorful barges Walt had traveled upon during his many trips to Europe. The attraction that was fraught with problems and became not-so-affectionately known as the Mud Bank Ride because there was nothing to really look at. It closed only two months later.   In 1956, the Storybook Land Canal Boats reopened and since then the attraction has been providing Disneyland guests with a seven-minute cruise into a miniature world of Disney animated classics aboard 12-person boats named...

June 1, 2017 in All Posts, Big Kids, dining, disney california adventure, Kendra, marvel, Top 5

Turn the camera away from the action for the most memorable Disneyland photos

May 30, 2017 in All Posts, babies & toddlers, disneyland, disneyland resort, entertainment, entertainment tips, photography, Tips & Tricks for Families
I love Disneyland parades. Love them. Disneyland parades are fun, fantasy and all of our favorite characters all in one exciting place set against lively, happy music. But there’s one thing I love even more than watching the parades and that’s watching the looks on my kids’ faces while they are watching the parades. Pictured here is my youngest son at 2 1/2. Oh my… that is such special age; everything is magical and enchanting. He was in love with everything Disney–from Mickey to princesses to Pinocchio to Peter Pan. While I’ve always loved to get lost in the...

Since we have been on a stroller kick at Babes in Disneyland lately, why not keep the ball rolling? There is one more stroller question I’ve received (and been asking myself), and that is: Question: When can I stop bringing a stroller for my babe and what can I do to help with the transition away from it? Answer: The prime age to transition out of a stroller is somewhere between 5-6, Kindergarten or First Grade age.
