Terrific Tip Tuesday (on Wednesday) – Packing for a Trip to the Happiest Place on Earth
August 20, 2009 in All Posts, babies & toddlers, Big Kids, disneyland resort, Travel Tips

As an annual passholder and former Disneyland tour guide, I pride myself on always being prepared. Beyond the obvious backpack items like sunscreen, snacks, juice boxes, bottles, wipes, and diapers, here are my top six (because I just couldn’t settle on a nice round number like five and didn’t want to bore you with ten) Disneyland must-haves from home. · Costumes – They’re just not for Halloween! I dress my boys...

In light of my posting yesterday, I thought that it was only fitting that I post tips on how to save money at the Disneyland Resort. Don’t buy bottled water Bring your own water bottle and refill it throughout the resort from the filtered water spigots. The city of Anaheim has award-winning water and considering the fact that the resort exclusively sells Aquafina watered (which is filtered water from a municipal...

Universal Studios Hollywood – Trip Report
July 13, 2009 in All Posts, other so cal tourist attractions
Recently, my family and I had the opportunity to visit Universal Studios Hollywood in Universal City, California. Universal Studios is the busiest studio backlot in California and has been seen in countless movies, television shows, and commercials. Universal Studios has offered tours since it opened. Studio co-owner, Carl Laemmle loved the idea of fans being able to watch silent movies being filmed. Our visit to Universal Studios Hollywood began on an overcast morning in June. After picking up our tickets and getting a map, we sat for a moment and tried to plan our our day. We reviewed the...

Tomorrowland Terrace…It’s Baaack!
June 18, 2009 in All Posts, disneyland, disneyland resort, entertainment, tomorrowland
If you grew up in Orange County in the ’80s or ’90s, then you probably hung out at Tomorrowland Terrace (TLT) dancing or know someone who did. It was a wholesome place to pick up on members of the opposite sex, grab a burger, giggle, and dance. Disneyland management is funny about TLT; they go for years running the dance floor as a place for teens to hang out and then stop it because it becomes too crowded, too this, or too that, only to reopen it years later all over again. The cycle seems to have repeated itself over...
