(Almost) Wordless Wednesday: First Trip + First Friend = Disneyland Obsession
May 4, 2011 in All Posts, disneyland, personal, photography
This is a picture of me with my very first friend, Eric Darling, on our very first trip to Disneyland. My mom and dad went to high school with his parents and we joke that we’ve been friends since we were fetuses. This trip to Disneyland was a really big deal for our families. The picture above is taken in front of the Frontierland stockade. As you can see, our parents clearly didn’t care for the pesky ropes that keep people out of the planters. Below is another picture that clearly shows my mom’s dedication to the perfect picture…in...

Terrific Tip Tuesday: Save your way to Disneyland with Disney Rewards Visa
May 3, 2011 in All Posts, discounts, disney rewards visa, Tips & Tricks for Families, vacation planning
Let’s face it. Whether you are saving for your family’s dream vacation to Disneyland, a day trip, or an annual pass, saving up for Mickey and his friends is not easy–especially with the current state of the economy.
My family and I use the Disney Rewards Visa in order to help save toward our annual passes each year. We charge many of our family’s purchases and monthly insurance premiums, etc. We don’t keep a running balance (we pay it off every month), but by using it we earn Disney Dream Dollars that we can use toward our annual passes.
The Disney...
On April 19, Walt Disney Home Entertainment unveiled Sharpay’s Fabulous Adventure, an all-new movie on Blu-ray and DVD starring Ashley Tisdale reprising her role as Disney Channel’s global sensation “High School Musical” drama queen character Sharpay Evans. This is Emily in all of her“pink-ness.” Since my boys are so little…and boys, I deferred to one of the coolest girls I know to review this movie, Emily. (You know her mom, Suzanne, as one of the Three Disneyland Moms and lead blogger and columnist for OC Family magazine.) Here’s her thoughts on the movie. “I am a big fan of...

Fun Fact Friday: Keeping Disneyland Clean and Green
April 23, 2011 in All Posts, disneyland resort, fun facts
This is a repost but considering it’s Earth Day, I thought it was appropriate… Disney parks are known for being very, very clean. It stands to reason considering, Disneyland uses 1,000 brooms, 500 dust pans, and 3,000 mops each year. Approximately 30 tons of trash are collected during a busy park day. That’s a lot of trash! The custodial department collect 12 million pounds of trash each year. Custodial cast members are vital in bringing together the Disneyland show and making the resort the enjoyable family destination that it is. The Disney company has had environmental campaigns going on within...
