Sometimes things happen that can only happen at Disneyland
in All Posts, disney california adventure, disneyland
There are some things that can only happen at “The Happiest Place on Earth” and here are two that I just had to share from my media event last week. The folks at Disney don’t just go halfway when they make introductions. To introduce the new Disney resort, Aulani, in Hawii, they brought out singer Jason Castro to sing “Somewhere Over the Rainbow.” Sorry the image isn’t fabulous; my regular camera died shortly before I shot this. 🙂 And to kick off Mickey’s Soundsational Parade, John Addis, senior show director for Disney Entertainment Productions, introduced us to not only...

What is going on in this DCA concept art?
June 6, 2011 in All Posts, disney california adventure, disneyland resort
I was going through some old pictures in my photo library and I stumbled upon these that I took last September. I meant to share them a long time ago, but just forgot. At first glance, this concept art of the new Carthay Circle Theater doesn’t set off any alarms. And now take a closer look at the bottom left corner. What the heck? Why on earth would they include what appears to be two people fighting?! Feel free to discuss…

Anthony Daniels, the voice of C-3PO and the only actor to appear in every theatrical chapter of the Star Wars Saga, reprises his role as the golden protocol droid. Daniels worked with Walt Disney Imagineeringto record new dialogue for the attraction. Star Tours – The Adventure Continues is the result of a fantastic partnership between Walt Disney Imagineering, Lucas Film, and Industrial Light and Magic. Separately, the three are known for excellence in entertainment innovation and together…they are a power house to be reckoned with and have really knocked it out of the park with the new Star Tours. If...
Gnomeo & Juliet was released on DVD on May 24. This delightful movie takes place in the secret world of garden gnomes set against a soundtrack of Elton John’s classic music. The characters are voiced by Emily Blunt, James McAvoy, and sir Michael Caine. The film was directed by Kelly Ashbury, the director of Shrek 2. It is rated G and appropriate for babes of all ages. Gnomeo and Juliet is the story of gnome families from neighboring, feuding homes–much like that Shakespearian story of old…without the super sad ending. The gnomes in each of the families are in...
My Disney Firsts
in All Posts, babes in disneyland, babies & toddlers, disney california adventure, disneyland, disneyland resort
Clearly, Disney is a big part of my life. Here are some of my favorite Disney firsts: I first started working at Disneyland as a tour guide in June of 1993. On my first day, I was trained in the phone room by Craig. The first call I took was a question about the Disneyland Fire Department. I was elated that I could answer it without asking for Craig’s help. The first “celebrity” I took around Disneyland was the Reverend Robert Schuller from the Crystal Cathedral. I was so excited to meet him, as I attended his church when...

in All Posts, disneyland, disneyland resort, photography
This shot of my dad, my brother, and me in 1984 is nothing short of awesome. In fact, this picture is so awesome, that I am unable to write a caption for it. My husband took a crack at it. Let me know your favorite caption or write your own! As you can tell, Dad was a big fan of Magnum P.I. Look closely: Dad’s hat, socks and shirt are actually color coordinated! Even the picture on the wall is rolling its eyes We are not tourists…we are awesome 1984 = LAME P.S. My dad is totally awesome and...
