Fun Fact Friday: Oh, the life of a Disneyland Horse!
August 5, 2011 in All Posts, disneyland, main street
Feel bad for those big draft horses pulling the street cars up and down Main Street to Central Plaza? Don’t fret. You will be happy to know that Disneyland’s horses have a pretty sweet gig. They work between two and two and a half hours each day, only three days per week. When the horses aren’t in the park, they rest, relax and get pampered backstage at the Circle D Corral. Plus, on top of it all, the horses get two weeks of vacation per year!
“Integrity” has been a big word here at Babes In Disneyland this week. On Monday, Suz, Marcy, and I launched The Three Disneyland Moms’ Pledge. All Disney bloggers can take the pledge that we hold near and dear to us to blog with integrity. Together, we are dedicated to the ideals that Walt Disney held close to his heart and like him hope to be a source joy and inspiration to others. If you haven’t already, please take a moment to read over The Three Disneyland Moms’ Pledge. Taking the pledge and posting your button on your blog or...
Back when I started Babes In Disneyland, there weren’t a lot of Disneyland blogs, and to my knowledge, no other Disneyland mom blogs. I was treading in new territory and forging my way. The nice part about being among the first was being able to find myself along the way. Since I started my blog, I’ve made changes here and there and cultivated my publication into something that I think families and fans can both enjoy. I take my blog pretty seriously. I want it to be good…really good. I work hard to provide the most accurate information possible....
Terrific Tip Tuesday: Survival tips for bringing an infant to Disneyland

Today’s Disney picture is dedicated to our family’s dear dog, Jake. We adopted Jake long before we had children; he was our first baby. We got him from the Redlands Animal Shelter and at first he didn’t catch my eye. He was covered in scabs bigger than quarters from his head down to his tail. His paperwork said 6+ years. (I think they were being kind with the age.) The worker at the shelter insisted we see him and brought him to us in the small area they had set aside for interacting with the pets. He immediately jumped in...
The Way I Blog: Disney Writing Tips for Bloggers
July 25, 2011 in All Posts, Disney writing guidelines
I’ve been writing about Disney for a long time. What you may or may not know is that I started my professional life writing for Disney. While in college I rewrote the Welcome to Disneyland Tour using the knowledge I was learning from my public speaking professors at CSULB. It was an amazing opportunity to put my speech communication education to good use. After graduation, I moved on to writing for the resort’s Guest Communications department. I helped assist with the high flow of guest correspondence received each day, along with the new email system. (Yes, this was back...

Today I am participating in the Christmas in July Blog Hop hosted by Ashley at Mama of All Trades. I met Ashley while on the Wild Africa Safari at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Park in Walt Disney World. She is a great gal with a great blog. If you’re joining me from the DVC Mom, welcome! Thinking about visiting Disneyland during the holidays? There is honestly no better time to visit the resort. The park is decorated to the hilt with amazing holiday decorations. Even the characters are dressed in their holiday finest. While this can be a...
I am excited to announce that I will be giving away a copy of my book once the Babes In Disneyland Facebook page reaches 1,000 “likes.” The page is already at more than 900 and growing by the day. Once the page reaches 1,000, I will put a post up here on my blog. Facebook “likers” will leave a comment letting me know they like Babes In Disneyland along with their first name, last initial, and email address. It’s that simple! (Sorry I can’t host it on Facebook, but it’s not allowed.) Want an extra shot at winning my...
Disneyland basics for families with babies + the Disney Blog Hop!

This week’s hop is being co-hosted by Disney Babies Blog–a blog all about taking babies and little ones to Walt Disney World! It’s full of great posts and info for families and I LOVE it! Babies and Disneyland make sense to me. I have been taking my boys since they were wee babes. There’s nothing like the look on a baby’s face when they see Mickey for the first time (for better or for worse). Princess Dot’s Puddle Park is a great place fora crawler or toddler to get wet and let loose! Because Babes In Disneyland is...
