Just wanted to apologize for not posting in a while. On the home front, my kids have been sick…one right after another. On the job front, I’m busy helping my wonderful clients. And on the Disney front, Melanie and I have been running to and fro attending some great events. We’re hoping to bring some great giveaways for mom and baby, as well as some really cool articles, in the next few weeks. Stay tuned!

Build-A-Bear Workshop Unveils Kermit and Miss Piggy
February 24, 2012 in All Posts, downtown disney, muppets, shopping tips
The Build-A-Bear Workshop in Downtown Disney at the Disneyland Resort is a truly incredible experience. Build-A-Bear Workshops can be found across the United States, but the workshop at Downtown Disney is unique in that it offers special Disney-licensed merchandise and Disneyland-licensed merchandise only available at the Anaheim location. On Monday, my boys and I made our first trip ever to Build-A-Bear Workshop and they couldn’t believe their eyes. My boys love stuffed animals. Love. And they loved Build-A-Bear. They wanted every animal they layed their eyes on. They loved the Disneyland t-shirts and Captain Hook costume. I have it...

Dreamy Disney Dates: A Downtown Disney Romance
February 17, 2012 in All Posts, dining, downtown disney
Since February is a great month to celebrate being in love, Chris and I figured we should celebrate it with something we both love — Disney! This time, though, we decided to stay outside of the main gates and spend the evening in Downtown Disney. The lights, music, overall ambiance, and Disney magic of the outdoor shopping and dining district invites romance to the evening. Another benefit of spending the evening there is that parking is free for three hours (or up to five, with validation)! If you’re able to spend the evening without the kids, here’s how you...

(Almost) Wordless Wednesday: The World Famous Jungle Cruise
February 15, 2012 in adventureland, All Posts, disneyland, photography
I adore Disneyland’s Jungle Cruise. The attraction opened on the park’s opening day, July 17, 1955, and I love it just as much for it’s 1950s innovation as I do for the corny jokes, reliably short line and the memories I have of all of my friends who worked on it back in the 1990s when women were trained as skippers for the first time. Do you have a favorite Jungle Cruise joke? Leave it in a comment below!
Walt Disney’s Disneyland Apartment: My time with a very special place
February 13, 2012 in All Posts, disneyland, fun facts, main street, walt disney's apartment
Built during Disneyland’s one-year construction, Walt Disney kept an apartment above the Main Street Fire Station next to City Hall. As one of the first buildings built, it gave him a bird’s eye view from which to oversee Disneyland’s construction. Once the park opened, the apartment served as a place for Walt to entertain friends and watch guests’ reactions as they entered and exited the park. Today, Walt’s apartment is a shrine dedicated to preserving yesteryear. While closed to the public, it is opened for dignitaries, Disney corporate executives and other important guests who visit the park. If guests...
Meet me above Main Street tomorrow…
February 12, 2012 in All Posts, disneyland, personal, walt disney's apartment
Tomorrow is the big day I’ll be posting a piece that I’ve been writing in my head since I started my blog: my “relationship” with Walt Disney’s apartment. Honestly, I’ve put it off all these years because I wasn’t sure if it was part of me and my memories that I was willing to share. After reading several different posts about Walt’s apartment on the internet last week, I felt like this was as good a time as any to finally do it. Once I sat down to write the piece, it poured out of me as memories and...

The series will highlight the importance of taking care of oneself and others, while showcasing the hallmarks of great Disney storytelling – fantasy and wish fulfillment. The Hollywood Health & Society division of the USC Annenberg Norman Lear Center will serve as the health and medical consultant...
