No one wants to wait in long lines while at the Disneyland Resort. That being said, there are a few things a family can do to make the most of their Disney days. Below is a video Marcy, Suz and I made that I think will be especially helpful for those of you planning first time visits.

Fun Fact Friday: Special facts not known to many guests (video)
March 9, 2012 in All Posts, disneyland, frontierland, fun facts, main street, new orleans square
The great thing about Disneyland is that there’s always new things to discover and learn about. Many guests don’t know about the fine details that make the park an amazing place for both the occasional visitor and die-hard annual passholder. Here is a video of some of my favorite little-known facts about the Disneyland Resort.
Disney Parks guests made the most of February 29 when Walt Disney World Resort in Florida and Disneyland Resort in California celebrated Leap Year by keeping a theme park on each coast open for 24 hours of nonstop memory-making fun. For the first time ever, both the Magic Kingdom Park and Disneyland Park were open for 24 hours straight as part of a bi-coastal salute called “One More Disney Day.” From 6 a.m., February 29 to 6 a.m., March 1, 2012, local time, guests filled the extra day of leap year with a marathon of Disney magic and fun....

Taken from March 7, 2012 Disneyland Resort press release. This is an update to my original post: The Happiest Place on Earth will get even happier June 15, 2012, with the grand opening of Cars Land, Buena Vista Street and the Carthay Circle Theatre at Disney California Adventure park. The exciting, new additions will complete the five-year expansion of Disneyland Resort, a premier, multi-day vacation destination in Southern California with two theme parks, three hotels and the Downtown Disney shopping and dining district. With four new attractions opening at Disney California Adventure park, full day-to-night experiences at both parks,...
John Carter and Friends Bring Mars to Hollywood: My Red Carpet Experience
in All Posts, disneyland resort, movies
Though growing up in Southern California (and frequently visiting Disneyland) comes with one or two celebrity sightings, there is nothing that compares to walking the red carpet at a Hollywood movie premiere — especially for the first time! On February 22nd, I was given the fantastic opportunity to represent Babes in Disneyland along the press line at the world premiere of Disney’s John Carter! As you will soon read, my first red carpet experience was filled with quirks. Before diving into the details of being at the premiere, I think it’s important that I provide some background to the night’s...
On Monday, the world lost one of the most influential composers of our time. Robert B. Sherman, the second half of the legendary Sherman brothers, passed away at his home in London after a long-time illness. Best known for his amazing contributions to music for Disney theme parks and films, he was also an avid writer and painter and was decorated with a Purple Heart for his courage in World War II.Living in Los Angeles within walking distance of several major studios, it’s pretty commonplace for me to see “celebrities” walking down the street, at the hardware store or...
I recently had the opportunity to review the movie “Geek Charming” on Disney DVD. This movie, which originally ran on the Disney Channel, stars Sarah Hyland (“Modern Family”) and Matt Prokop (“High School Musical 3: Senior Year”) and is a classic coming-of-age tale that explores the wonderful world of high school popularity. The movie follows Dylan Shoenfield, a 16-year-old spoiled, uber popular junior at Woodlands Academy. Dylan’s ultimate life goal is to be crowned Blossom Queen at the Spring Formal–the ultimate badge of popularity and status. When Dylan accidentally drops her expensive designer handbag into the mall fountain, the...
Blok Squad Police Force Pursuit by Mega Bloks Review
March 3, 2012 in All Posts, boys, product review
To say there are few building bricks in our house would be like saying I only spend a few dollars each time I load up at Costco. My kids are always building and creating something new or rebuilding an old set. With that being said, my kids were over the moon when I pulled out the Blok Squad Police Force Pursuit set. I received the set in order to review it just after Christmas, but wanted to wait a month or so to give it to them since all of Santa’s toys were still in such heavy rotation in...
There’s one thing that I see time after time when I’m at Disneyland that baffles me: the way people dress. I am consistently confused by the clothing options folks choose when they go to Disneyland. To begin, let’s layout the basic facts of a Disneyland trip. It’s a long day and comfort is key. Guests pay a lot of money to go to Disneyland. Guests take a lot of pictures when they go to Disneyland–pictures they will be looking at for, in some cases, the rest of their lives. All of that being said, I am always dumbfounded by...
Great news for those of us who love Apple and Disneyland
March 2, 2012 in All Posts, disneyland, Tips & Tricks for Families
I cannot deny the fact that I am an Apple junky. My Macbook Pro is my fourth child and my iPhone is never more than a few feet away from me. For those of you Apple addicts like me, you’ll be happy to know that two Disneyland apps are now available for download. First and foremost, I am thrilled that Mobile Magic, the Disney Parks app that was once only available to Verizon Wireless customers is now available for iPhone through AT&T. Although the app is still branded with the Verizon brand name on its homepage, it is fully...
