April 23, 2012 in All Posts, disneyland resort, Melanie, merchandise, shopping tips
Although we have never had the pleasure of knowing what one of the Disney Princesses smell like — at least until smell-o-vision is invented — we can imagine that their beauty and personalities showed in their scents. Belle may have smelled like a rose, Jasmine may have smelled like…Jasmine, and so on. Yes, I understand that this is probably not something that everyone thinks about, but it’s Princess Week! So, in honor of this royal ritual, take some time to think — what is YOUR fantasy fragrance? To help decide, be sure to visit Mlle. Antoinette’s Parfumerie, a luxury boutique...

The last of those is a particular favorite for little girls and little girls at heart — including me! Therefore, it is no surprise that I am especially excited for the first annual National Princess week, which is happening today, April 22nd, until Saturday, April 28. Disney Junior’s Jake and the Never Land Pirates has taken kids by storm! My boys LOVE the show and watch it or listen to the soundtrack every day. When we found out that Peter Pan would have his own Jake and the Never Land Pirates special, our house went into full Never Land crazy mode. We attended the premiere at the Disney Studios and when it aired, my kids watched it over…and over…and over. Recently, we were able to free up a little DVR space when Jake and the Never Land Pirates: Peter Pan Returns came out on DVD....
Fun Fact Friday: The Partners Statue
April 20, 2012 in All Posts, disneyland, fun facts, Randy, Tips & Tricks for Families, walt disney
Right in the middle of Disneyland Park, in what is called the Central Plaza, or “Hub,” stands the Partners Statue. Walt Disney and Mickey Mouse together. But guests who have been going to Disneyland for only the last 20 years or so may not realize that this statue wasn’t always there. The Partners Statue only became part of Disneyland in 1993. At first, there were just planters in that spot. In the mid-1980’s, various promotions made use of that space in a bid to increase attendance. Among them were a gigantic jukebox (with a DJ at the bottom) for...

Taking a toddler to the Disneyland Resort can be fun and exciting…and tiring and frustrating all at once. Then again, let’s be honest, it can be down-right frustrating taking a squirmy, wiggly, opinionated toddler anywhere. With that in mind, here is the Babes In Disneyland list of the best attractions for toddlers at the Disneyland Resort. This list was compiled using reader input on our Facebook page and our own personal experiences. Best of all, all five of these attractions are known for having relatively short waits when compared with other attractions at the Disneyland Resort–even on crowded days....
Forrest Gump infamously said, “I just felt like running”. We know why we run. It strengthens our hearts, helps to control our weight, builds personal fortitude, and thanks to that endorphin release, just plain feels good. Participating in a runDisney event offers a pirate’s booty of additional perks: unique Park access, character interaction and signature Disney entertainment, to name a few. But a growing segment of the running populace has joined the sport for someone else’s well-being. Racing for charity is nothing short of a sports phenomenon in this country, with approximately 1 billion dollars raised via road races...

April 17, 2012 in All Posts
Heading to the Disneyland Resort with kids requires a lot of stuff. From strollers to food to diapers and everything in between. This is particularly true for families visiting the resort overnight. Road trips and plane flights with kids can be exhausting and if you are like me, you probably struggle with the want to have everything with the desire to travel light. Travelers heading to the Disneyland Resort will be happy to know that there is a Target located 2.1 miles from Disneyland park. This is one of those great Targets that has everything–including a grocery store. Ideal...
