My Favorite Disney California Adventure Memory: Hollywood Tower of Terror
June 11, 2012 in All Posts, disney california adventure, disneyland resort, Hollywood Pictures Backlot, The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror
Picture of the attraction courtesy of fellow contributor Jessica There’s one in every family. One loves it, the other hates it. One begs, “Please, please. Can we? It’s my favorite!” And no amount of begging, pleading, exhorting will ever sway the other’s stalwart resolution. Not love, nor ready money will ever get them to ride the The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror. I’ll give you three guesses which group I fall into and the first two don’t count! I love the The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror. It’s located in Hollywood Pictures Backlot (which will be officially renamed Hollywood...

Experience One More Disney Day at WDW + learn all about the Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom game
June 9, 2012 in All Posts, guest post, walt disney world
This is a guest post on what it was like at Walt Disney World for the “One More Disney Day.” Thank you Kelly Anderson for the post and sending you a HUGE apology for not posting it on Babes In Disneyland sooner! My husband and I saw the first commercial advertizing “One More Disney Day” at the beginning of January while visiting family. I instantly decided we would go. What other chance would we have to spend 24 hours in a Disney park? Granted, I would have much preferred to stick it out in “the original,” but since we...
Fun Fact Friday: Disneyland Dedication Speeches
June 8, 2012 in All Posts, disneyland, fun facts, Randy, Tips & Tricks for Families, walt disney
One of the most famous speeches to Disneyland fans may be Walt Disney’s dedication speech from Opening Day, July 17, 1955. It’s on a plaque at the base of the flag pole in Town Square. Part of it is shown during The Magic, The Memories, and You. Part of it is even tapped out in Morse Code at the Frontierland/New Orleans Square station of the Disneyland Railroad (more on that tidbit another time). In case you’re not familiar with it–or you just want to hear it again–here is a video of Walt delivering that speech. Go ahead and watch it...

The Hungry Bear is a great place to bring meals from home! Lunch. It’s an important part of any guest’s day at the Disneyland Resort. A good lunch is not only fuel for the rest of your adventure but can be a much needed rest offering a chance to reflect on the day’s events and plan the remaining hours at the resort. In a very unscientific poll of Babes In Disneyland readers and our (ok MY own) humble opinions, here are the top 5 places to eat lunch at the Disneyland Resort. 1. Hands down, the Hungry Bear Restaurant...
Seeing Stormtroopers at the Jedi Training Academy at Disneyland is a highlight of any Star Wars fan’s day. Recently I snapped these shots of Stormtroopers and Babes In Disneyland readers submitted their favorite captions over on the Babes In Disneyland Facebook page. Chris Vasquez: ”Who is this man they call Spock? And wth is a vulcan?”Kasey Lynn Unkelbach: “It’s ok, I’ve got this!”Toni Iguain: “You go that way and get us fast passes for Space Mountain. I’ll go grab us some churros.”Susan Marie: “Dude, take a shower!”Krista Marie Owens: ”Don’t worry friend, she wasn’t your type anyway…”Brooke Purdy: ”No, seriously, Bro- your Axe...
Disney Vacation Club: Not Your Average Timeshare Program
June 5, 2012 in All Posts, aulani, disney california adventure, disney cruise line, disney vacation club, disneyland, disneyland resort, grand californian, vacation planning
In spite of several informational kiosks sprinkled throughout Disneyland Resort and a gorgeous new resort nestled in an idyllic beachfront location on the island of Oahu in Hawaii, Disney Vacation Club (also known as DVC) is still arguably Disney’s best kept secret here on the West Coast. DVC members book spacious, luxury accommodations to suit their needs. If you’re not familiar with DVC, it is a flexible vacation ownership program that’s a convenient and cost-effective way for members to see the world while staying in top-notch, family-friendly accommodations —now and for years to come. It is based on a Vacation Points...
Since it’s original release in 2003 (is anyone else amazed that this was NINE years ago?!), Disney/Pixar’s Finding Nemo has become a fan favorite — and even an attraction at Disneyland! This year, though, fans can feel closer than ever to their sea creature friends. Beginning September 13th, dive into theaters to experience this must-“sea”in 3D. Once again, audiences can join Marlon and Dory in their adventure to find a young clown fish named Nemo. Finding Nemo will also be swimming into living rooms for the first time ever in high-definition Blu-ray, Blu-ray 3D and Digital platforms on December 4,...
Traveling to Disneyland: Where to Stay

Here is my room, before it was lived in. The beds in the Grand Californian are absolutely lovely. “We’ll be at the park all day, so it doesn’t even matter what hotel we stay at.” I have heard this too many times to count from people (and myself at times) who are planning a trip to Disneyland. And maybe in my pre-children days, yes. But, if you have ever shared this thought or wondered about the importance of picking the right hotel, this post is for you. I tend to think there are two kinds of vacationers – the...
Merchandise Monday: Unique Merchandise
in All Posts, disneyland resort, Melanie, merchandise, shopping tips
With all of the exciting and unique aspects of the Disneyland Resort, it is no surprise that there are also places within each park where guests can find unique and themed merchandise. Although many merchandise locations often carry the same merchandise lines, there are locations that are more specific and unique. Here are some of the most notable: Pieces of Eight – If you’re looking for pirate merchandise, mark an X on Pieces of Eight on your park map. Located at the exit of the Pirates of the Caribbean attraction in Disneyland, this location carries all things pirate. From...
