Lace up your shoes it’s time to get ready for the 2011 CHOC Walk! On October 16th, thousands of CHOC Children’s supporters will walk through the Disneyland® Resort at the 21st Annual CHOC Walk in the Park. Last year, over 14,000 participants raised $2 million helping to support the care, services, education and research that CHOC provides children. Now, every step means more. As CHOC expands the services provided throughout the community, your support will help more children–in addition to making sure that every child who is in need will receive care regardless of their family’s ability to pay.

The CHOC Walk is a great way to experience the Disneyland Resort as a Disney fan and a great way to celebrate and contribute to the great work done by the doctors, nurses, researchers, and other pediatric health care specialists at CHOC. Just check out this video to see what I’m talking about.

The Walk takes place in the early morning of October 16. The Babes In Disneyland team will meet at 6a.m. (or a little earlier) and proceed to the opening ceremony so that we are close to the front of the crowd. The Walk begins at 7. You may participate with or without your children. Last year I brought all three of my kids and I have decided to walk without them this year so that I can concentrate on getting to know all of you better and maybe hang out or grab breakfast with you afterward. (We can figure that out later.)
You can join the Babes In Disneyland team by clicking this link. You will then sign up for the Walk and pledge to raise at least $50. All Walk participants, ages 3 and older, need to raise at least $50 to partake in the Walk. The $50 must be raised prior to the Walk.
Here’s a breakdown of what you can expect the day of the walk:
- Upon arriving at the Disneyland Resort, you’ll realize this is more than a visit to Disneyland®. It’s a celebration of CHOC’s dedication to not just helping children across Orange County, but the hope they provide children and their families across the country. It’s a time for families to thank the doctors and nurses that cared for their children and share their stories with other families.
- As you walk through Disneyland® Park, Disney® California Adventure park and Downtown Disney District, you’ll be joined by your favorite Disney characters–cheering you on and providing unique photo opportunities. You’ll have the exclusive opportunity to experience Disneyland as you never have before!
- At the end of the 5k Walk, the celebration continues in the Downtown Disney District where event sponsors, hospital support groups, shops and restaurants have special offers for all Walk participants. Join the CHOC Walk Facebook Page to be informed of upcoming and special Walk promotions.

This sounds amazing and so much fun! I wish I lived closer to participate in the walk.
I am beyond excited that I am moving to Henderson, NV in two weeks. That’s way closer to Disneyland than I have ever been. This year the walk won’t be doable due to moving expensives, but next year..I’m in! 🙂 I’ve always dreamed of doing a Disneyland walk/ charity event!
My Mom and I just joined and we are so excited to join the Babes in Disneyland team!!!
