This week, we were asked what our favorite sit-down restaurant was in Disneyland, and why…
“Blue Bayou is my all-time favorite restaurant in Disneyland Park. I love the Cajun- and Creole-style food and almost always accompany my meals with the signature drink of New Orleans Square, the Mint Julep! Because the restaurant is located right inside the Pirates of the Caribbean attraction, I like to have my meal while seated at a table near the water. There’s nothing like soaking in the gently-lit “outdoor” atmosphere and waving to Guests floating by in boats headed to the pirate-filled waters below! It’s the quintessential Disneyland themed dining location in my opinion, and one I have enjoyed since my earliest visits.”
“Oh man, this is probably the hardest question for me, since food is such a big part of our Disneyland trips, and I love so many of them! But for the restaurant that has the best combination of atmosphere, food, and value I’d have to say Hungry Bear is my family’s favorite restaurant. We love the cool shade, and breeze of the water, there’s plenty of scenery to take in while you eat, and their food is really good with a fair amount of unique items (Fried Green Tomato Sandwich!). It’s pretty much perfect!”
“Without a doubt my favorite sit down restaurant at Disneyland is Blue Bayou. Dining there feels like a bit of an escape from the hustle as bustle of the park. I love the dark, romantic atmosphere and the food is excellent.”
“Our favorite sit-down restaurant when we are with the kids is the Carnation Cafe on Main Street. The services is excellent–fast and friendly–and the food is delicious. It’s all of the best comfort food items you make at home always leaves us feeling satisfied but not overstuffed.”
“My favorite table-service restaurant in Disneyland is Blue Bayou. This may be an obvious choice, as the ambiance and food are unique, immersive and quintessentially Disneyland. Though peaceful and somewhat upscale, there is nothing stuffy or over-privileged about Blue Bayou. The restaurant’s location and atmosphere are delightful and ideal for a family lunch, romantic dinner or meal friends.”
“I hardly ever do sit-down meals in the parks. I did love the Plaza Inn’s character breakfast, though. I can’t remember the last time I saw so many characters at once and had such fun interactions (except for on the Disney Cruise Line), and from my table I could also look out at Main Street U.S.A. Now *that* is a great way to start a day at Disneyland!”
“This is a tough one – I love so many of them. But if I have to choose one, I’d pick The Cafe Orleans. Great views of New Orleans Square, mint juleps, and the Monte Cristo sandwich, can’t be beat!”
Yum! You can’t beat a fried sandwich with powdered sugar on it! The diet-busting Monte Cristo is worth it! |
