I adore Disneyland’s Jungle Cruise. The attraction opened on the park’s opening day, July 17, 1955, and I love it just as much for it’s 1950s innovation as I do for the corny jokes, reliably short line and the memories I have of all of my friends who worked on it back in the 1990s when women were trained as skippers for the first time.

I love the Jungle Cruise and all of it’s corny jokes!!
This is a cute ride. It has been years since I’ve ridden it, but my youngest daughter was excited to ride it for her first time on our last trip. She couldn’t believe she had missed it with how many times she has been to the parks.
I think my favorite happened last time we were at Disneyland. I was carrying my 4 month old in a front pack and as we were all getting on the boat he started off with, The first animal on our cruise is a marsupial! She frequently carries her baby in the pouch on the front of her body hehe 🙂
I should have grown up a cast member…instead of a biker chick. You had all the fun!
Love it, it is our go to for a short mine too..
I had no idea women were not skippers until the 90s. Wow. I hope I get to see the original next year. 🙂
