Yesterday, my son Brandon and I had a special day for just the two of us at the Disneyland Resort. We had a wonderful moment as we walked around Town Square.
I pointed out the Queen of Hearts just as we got off the horse-drawn street car. She was walking alone–no guests hounding her–when she stopped to sign an autograph.
She looked down and saw Brandon with his sword and its sheath pulled through a belt loop of his shorts. She pulled the whole thing out and took the sheath for herself and handed Brandon his sword for a sword fight–right there in Town Square.
Brandon, who requests sword fights at home several times per day, was stunned that a real villain wanted to sword fight him.
Only at Disneyland can a child have such a magic moment.
