To say that I have been blessed with some amazing opportunities during my time working with the Disneyland Resort on behalf of Babes In Disneyland is an understatement. I was honored to be among a relatively small amount of media outlets invited to attend the re-grand opening ceremony for Disney California Adventure Park.
My morning in the park began around 6:30 with a Starbucks while watching Bob Iger rehearse for the big event. Once up in the grand stands, I was poised and ready to take in the ceremony and the show.
It was an exciting morning! Mary Niven and George Kalogridis took photos with John Lasseter. |
The ceremony began with lively singing and dancing. |
Bob Iger, chairman and chief executive officer of the Walt Disney Company gave a terrific, rousing speech harkening back to Walt Disney’s opening day speech in 1955. |
And of course, no ceremony would be complete without the big cheese, Mickey Mouse. |
Mickey joined Bob on stage and then took over the show as his “friends” from through the park showed up to give the park the rousing standing ovation it deserves! |
And with that, the new Disney California Adventure Park was rededicated to Disney Cast Members and fans! |
Thousands of guests waited to be the first in to Disney California Adventure and experience Buena Vista Street and Cars Land. |
After the ceremony, Disney executives walked down Buena Vista Street–including Bob Iger, George Kalogridis, Meg Crofton and Tom Staggs. When Tom saw me standing by the side of Buena Vista Street, he left the group and we had a chat about the all of the events leading up to the morning’s ceremony and my thoughts on the Glow with the Show ears. Tom loves the ears and was thrilled when his product development gurus came to him with the idea. |

Wow this looks like it was sooo much fun – I live in Florida so I am a WDW girl – but I would love to go to Disneyland!
