While planning my most recent trip to the Disneyland Resort, affectionately referred to as “Girls Trip 2013,” I decided that I wanted to make personalized t-shirts for my cousins and our daughters. No family resemblance- right?? 🙂
I love making personalized t-shirts for several reasons. First and foremost is that I think they look great in photos. I also see them as a great way to acknowledge and/or celebrate a holiday, birthday, or any other special event. In the case of my most recent trip I chose Mickey silhouettes with a heart in the middle as Valentine’s Day was the following week. Having everyone in the group wear the same shirt also makes it easier to keep everyone together, especially when the Park is crowded.
Making these t-shirts requires a bit of advanced planning but is well worth the extra time and effort. A few weeks prior to my trip I start bargain hunting and searching for the colors, styles, and sizes that I am looking for. I also visit my favorite site for all things homemade- Etsy, and my favorite iron-on transfer vendor- MissMorgan to select/ purchase the design that best fits my trip. MissMorgan sells hundreds of Disney inspired iron-on transfers, which can be made in the size and color of your choice, which are very reasonably priced for around $7.00 each including personalization.
Our Mickey shirts received so many comments and compliments from other guests, Cast Members, and even characters- we loved them! If you’re looking for special way to commemorate your next trip to the Disneyland Resort consider making personalized shirts for your family or group.
