Back in September of 2009, I attended the first D23 Expo. It was a lot of fun and I learned a lot. Here’s a few tips if you are attending the expo this weekend:
- Get there early and plan out all of the things you want to see and do. The panel discussions are really interesting, as are the different presentations. There are a lot of things going on all at one time, so plan out what’s most important to you.
- The expo caters to families with exhibits on Disney toys, the parks, video games, and the like. There is also a baby center much like Disneyland’s. And while you all know that I am really into incorporating all things Disney into all aspects of the family, I personally feel that the expo is better suited for just mom and dad if you are going to learn, as most children don’t really want to sit through presentations on the history of the Disneyland Hotel or the future of Buena Vista Street. Last time I tried making my then 4-year-old sit through a panel discussion about Snow White. He tried really hard, but it was just too tough for him. If you are just going to the expo to experience all of the cool exhibits, which could easily take up an entire day, then by all means, bring the kids along. I’ll be attending a lot of the panels and discussions, so I’ve got you covered.
- Don’t forget to bring your camera and video camera because there’s lots of opportunity for great photos and videos. Absolutely NO recording devices will be allowed in the Disney Studios presentation on Saturday.
- If you are attending the expo this weekend, be sure to follow me on Twitter (@dlandmom). I hope to carve out some time to do a Tweet-up so that I can meet some of the Babes In Disneyland readers in person!
- If you can’t make it to the expo this weekend or don’t think you’ll be able to make it to all of the events you want to see, let me know over at my Facebook page. Today and tomorrow, I will be requesting questions for some of the interviews I have scheduled and looking for your preference on what I cover!
At the D23 Expo in 2009, there was an exhibit on audioanimatronics. |
