It’s almost Halloween and if you haven’t visited Disneyland to experience all of the fabulous Halloween offerings, you have through Wednesday to get in on the action! For those of you thinking about a visit tomorrow or Wednesday or are considering a Halloween visit next year, here is the official unofficial list of the top five reasons to plan a visit to Disneyland for Halloween time. The list was complied using very unscientific data from Babes In Disneyland readers on our Facebook fan page and our own unbiased opinions.
1. Decorations
The one thing Disneyland fans love the most is overwhelmingly the decorations and food. From beautiful fall foilage to pumpkins galore, no one beats Disneyland’s not-so-scary Halloween decorations. They are the perfect backdrop for photos or to just get into that autumn state of mind…which can be tough when temperatures are still topping the high 80s in Southern California.
If you can’t make it to the Disneyland Resort for Hallween time, the decorating gurus at the Disneyland Resort have come up with special things you can do at home to make your holiday extra special in a Disney way.
2. Mickey’s Halloween Party
Mickey’s Halloween Party is a separate-ticket event that has become a popular Halloween highlight at Disneyland Park. The parties feature exclusive entertainment, trick-or-treating and so much more. For this year, there’s only two parties left–one tonight and one on Halloween. For more information on tickets, head over to www.Disneyland.com/Halloween. 3. Haunted Mansion Holiday
Considered by most to be the cornerstone of Disneyland’s Halloween festivities, Haunted Mansion Holiday is a special version of the regular Haunted Mansion attraction. In this version, the Mansion has been taken over by Jack Skellington and the rest of the inhabitants of Halloween Town from the popular Tim Burton movie “Nightmare Before Christmas.” Learn more about the attraction below:
4. Big Thunder Ranch Halloween Carnival
New to Disneyland this year is the Halloween Carnival at Big Thunder Ranch. Located in what many know as the old “Festival Arena” the Round-up offers children–the young and “not-so-young”–the opportunity to have Halloween fun with their favorite characters. Toddlers, preschoolers and school-aged children can interact with Mickey and Minnie, do art projects and play games. Older kids and adults can try their luck at conjuring a villain at the Astounding Cauldron of Magic .

5. Pirates League
A fan favorite at Walt Disney World, this year Pirates League has been available to guests since September 1 and will sail away to Never Land (as in CLOSE) November 1. (The last day is October 31.) My boys experienced Pirates League and LOVED every second of it.
The Halloween season and all of its delicious food, fun activities and beautifully spooky decorations are available to guests from mid September through October 31 each year. In 2013, the decorations and festivities will likely begin before September 13, and you’ll have to watch the Haunted Mansion Holiday video to find out why!
