Located a little more than a mile from the Disneyland Resort is the Embassy Suites Anaheim – South. The Embassy Suites is more than just a family-friendly hotel. This hotel is made for families in every way.
Upon entering the jungle-themed hotel, guests are greeted by friendly staff and kids are happily surprised to see a big water fall feature and streams with fish and turtles. My boys could have hung out looking at the water features for hours if we’d let them.
The Embassy Suites Anaheim -South is an all-suite hotel which an ideal set up for families. As you know, we have three children and the Embassy Suites accomodations were among the roomiest we’ve experienced in our travels. All of the rooms feature a bedroom and parlor room with its own television, pull-out sofa bed, and dining area.

Many families want to stay “on property” or a little closer to the resort, but a mile just isn’t that far when you consider what you get for about $150 per night (depending upon when you visit):
- A separate living and sleeping space for the kids toys, pack and play, etc.
- The ability to walk to a number of affordable, delicious restaurants. Joe’s Crab Shack is located within a 5-10 minute walk. I recommend sitting outside next to the playground. Yes! The restaurant has a playground! Your kids can play and have fun while you crack open your crab and lick butter off your fingers! This is the perfect place to have dinner after a long day of travel to Anaheim.
- Perhaps greatest of all for families who are traveling to the Disneyland Resort area is that this hotel is an 8-minute walk from a huge Target. There, you can stock up on all of the things your family forgot to bring with them or didn’t feel like lugging from home! Even though we just drove from L.A. to Anaheim, we still stopped in and grabbed some milk and small snacks for the room. The ability to snack and dine in the room allows families the opportunity to save a lot of money on food.
And speaking of saving money on food, Embassy Suites Anaheim – South offers all of its guests a complimentary hot breakfast every morning with made-to-order omlets, pancakes, bacon, sausage, and so much more. What’s more every evening the hotel offers its Manager’s Reception. At the reception, guests are treated to snacks and drinks–soft drinks for the kids and alcoholic beverages for adults–all of which are complimentary. At the reception, the hotel sells large slices of pizza for $2 each or $16 for a whole large pizza. If you are a family looking to plan a trip on a strict budget, the Embassy Suites leads the way in stretching your vacation dollars!
All rooms also include wireless Internet access, weekday newspapers, and premium cable channels. Guests gets easy access to the Disneyland Resort via the Anaheim Resort Transit system.
