Last week Lisa and I donned bright orange construction vests, hard hats, and safety goggles for a media tour of the new Princess Fantasy Faire at Disneyland. We learned that the Fantasy Faire will feature new food items, a new princess store, two princess stage shows, as well as a Royal Hall where the princesses will be on hand for meet-and-greets. While the attraction is still very much under construction, Disney Imagineers Michel Den Dulk and Christopher Utley were on hand to speak to us about the special design elements, new shows, and magic touches that are sure to bring guests hours of joy and excitement.

Scheduled to open on March 12th, Princess Fantasy Faire is located to the left of Sleeping Beauty’s Castle, and extends Fantasyland’s real estate by some 18,000 square feet. The village is straight out of a fairytale beautifully decorated cottages, a Royal Theater with colorful awnings, Maurice’s Treats food cart, and an amazing town square. In the heart of town stands Tangled Tower- inspired by the movie, which will be wrapped in Rapunzel’s magical hair and will light up.
The Royal Theater, formerly the Carnation Plaza Gardens, will host two new shows- one featuring the story of Belle and the other Rapunzel. Each 15-20 minute show will be put on as many as three times per day and will hosted by comedic storytellers Mr. Smyth and Mr. Jones, who will also be accompanied by the princesses themselves.

Just past the town square stands the intricately decorated Royal Hall. Beautifully paneled walls, regal carpeting, light fixtures shaped like crowns, and a large chandelier in the center of the room set the stage for amazing photos during princess meet-and-greets. Guests will have the opportunity to meet as many as three princesses at a time, including but not limited to, Belle, Cinderella, Ariel, Sleeping Beauty, Snow White, Rapunzel, and Mulan.
