Monday Must Have: Foogo Bottles by Thermos Review and Giveaway

June 28, 2010 in All Posts, review by Lisa Robertson

Welcome to my new series, Monday Must Have.  My hope is to bring you weekly must haves that will make your trips to the Disneyland Resort easier or more pleasurable.

This week, I am happy to report on a product that a Babes In Disneyland reader recommended, the Foogo straw bottle and sippy cup from Thermos.  I am so thankful for her recommendation.  This product will be a permanent addition to my Disneyland backpack.  Not only is it convenient and easy to use, it is going to save me a lot of money during future visits to Disneyland.

What makes this product great?
The Foogo products work.  They are made of stainless steel inside and hout and have a TherMax® double wall vacuum insulation for maximum cold temperature retention which can keep your child’s drinks cold for up to 10 hours.  I was shocked when I took a sip from my son’s milk about 5 hours into our Disneyland trip and it was still cold–like I had just poured the milk straight from the fridge.

The Foogo bottles were easy for my kids to use.  My five-year-old loved his straw bottle.  It has a hygienic push button lid with pop-up silicone straw is easy to open.  I love this feature because my kids aren’t exactly clean when we are at Disneyland.  The straw is covered when not in use allowing it to stay germ free.  My two-year-old had the hard-spout sippy with a leak proof valve, which was also really great.  Both bottles have a contoured body and are sweat proof, which is nice if they are going to be used in the house (no water rings!).  And of course, best of all, all of the pieces of these bottles can are dishwasher safe and easy to assemble.  I have always struggled to assemble straw cups in the past, but this one is really, really easy.  I love that.

Why are the Foogo bottles by Thermos so great for trips to Disneyland?
  • They are durable.  They will stand up to all of the abuse a day at Disneyalnd can dole out–falls from the strollers, being thrown from the stroller, etc.
  • They are easy to assemble and clean.
  • They keep milk cold for a LONG time, which means you may be able to get away with not purchasing milk while at Disneyland.  That saves you lots of money over the course of numerous trips to Disneyland and other outings.
  • They can be reused again and again, which is great for the environment and are BPA free.  I am certain they will last for a very, very long time.
Buy It!
You can purchase Foogo products by Thermos at major retailers and online on Amazon.com.

Win It!
The Thermos company is giving away the same Foogo products I received to one lucky Babes in Disneyland Reader.  That’s right!  One reader will receive the hard-spout sipper and the straw bottle.

I also want the Thermos Vacuum Insulated Food Jar!! I hate buying my three year old lunch/dinner at the park as I am not very fond of their limited selection. It’s either too small or too big and most especially they can get pretty pricey! This product keeps food cold for 7 hours and hot for 5 hours! Definitely a must-have in my book.

    Hi Lisa,
Not sure if I’m doing this right, but I just followed your blog (publicly) and left a comment above re: the other Thermos product I would like to have. =)

One of my Disneyland must haves is pretty simple — it is lunch box. Even on the days when I am not actually packing the boys a lunch, I bring it for snacks. It saves crackers and juice boxes from getting crushed, and I can always find them easily because they are stashed together.

Okay, I think this is my final entry 🙂 I think the Foogo food jar thing looks pretty cool. Again….it would work well in the “not crushing all of the snacks” department. I am thinking grapes and things like that…

I would love to be able to use the food jar to keep my munchkins food at the right temperature! The straw bottle is awesome too! He just started using a straw and loves it so this would be a great addition to the bag for our trips to the park!

I learned and LOVE that milk kept in these sippy cups have way less bacteria in them after 20 hours of sitting at room temperature then ones in regular sippy cups because we tend to have that problem around our house- finding sippy cups with milk in them in random places.
