Mickey Mouse Clubhouse: Minnie’s Masquerade Review and Giveaway

Mickey Mouse Clubhouse is a staple in our house. I have had no less than 20 at a time stored on our DVR for the last four years. I love Mickey Mouse Clubhouse for a lot of reasons. As a former teacher, I love the fact that Mickey Mouse Clubhouse exposes children to early math concepts and problem solving. As a mom, I love that my kids always answer out loud when Mickey asks, “Do you wanna come inside my clubhouse?”. I love that my boys are growing up the classic characters and learning from them at the same time.

On February 8, The Walt Disney Studios is releasing a new Mickey Mouse Clubhouse DVD entitled “Minnie’s Masquerade” just in time for Valentine’s Day. The DVD features a never before seen episode of Mickey Mouse Clubhouse in which Minnie and her friends get ready for a masquerade. As always, the Sensational Six stumbled upon some road blocks along the way and they call on the Mousketools for help.

The DVD has four other episodes on it: “Minnie’s Mouseke-Calendar,” “A Surprise for Minnie,” “Secret Spy Daisie,” and “The Friendship Team.” I am a huge fan of DVDs containing episodes like this one while we are traveling. When we are on trips from L.A. to Disneyland, I often don’t really want the kids to watch an entire movie. DVDs like this one are perfect for car trips. I also like that Disney DVDs are equipped with FastPlay so that I’m not trying to figure out how to get through the previews while controlling the DVD system from the front seat.

As a special option for consumers, Disney has packaged a version of the DVD to include the exclusive Mickey Mote – a child-friendly hand held remote control, shaped like Mickey ears, that takes children’s viewing experience to a whole new level of play. (For at home…not the car.) My-five-year-old loved the idea of interacting with the DVD. Disney’s Mickey Mote works with any Disney Preschool DVD that includes the the Discovery Mode feature. All parents have to do is program the remote control (which is very easy) and select the “Discovery Mode” on the menu screen. Within minutes, kids will be easily responding to questions, throughout the story, about scenes they just watched. Discovery Mode features include two levels of play, which provides more challenging questions as the child grows. To date, there are 11 titles that can be used with the Mickey Mote.
