I have made no secret of the fact that I really like (love) the Disneyland Hotel. Over the last year or so, the hotel complex has been undergoing a major renovation and even as construction continues, here are the reasons I love staying at the Disneyland Hotel.
1. Spacious rooms
The rooms at the Disneyland Hotel are much larger than those at the Grand Californian. In fact, the size of the rooms at the Disneyland Hotel rival those in the 4- and 5-star hotels outside the resort. My family of five comfortably fit in the room.
2. Quiet
A misconception by many potential resort guests, is that a hotel filled with families much be noisy. I have stayed the night at the Disneyland Hotel at least ten times and I have never, ever had an issue with noise. The rooms are very, very quiet.
3. Comfortable beds and bedding
The bedding and beds are so incredibly comfortable at the Disneyland Hotel. Guests can snuggle down into the ultra soft beds after a long day and sleep like a baby.
4. Close proximity to the parks
The Grand Californian is clearly the leader when it comes being close to the parks, but in my humble opinion, the larger rooms at the Disneyland Hotel are worth the longer walk.
5. Amazing pool area
The new Monorail / vintage Disneyland-inspired pool area at the Disneyland Hotel can’t be beat.
6. Friendly, helpful Cast Members
All of the Cast Members at the resort hotels go above and beyond when it comes to guest service. From the valets to the housekeepers and beyond, they are all amazing.
7. The “kiss good night”
It’s hard to think of a hotel anywhere that offers anything as magical at the Disneyland Hotel’s “kiss good night.” When the room is dark, guests push a button at the base of the lamp on the nightstand and all of the sudden, music begins to play and the head board lights up with fireworks! It is so incredibly lovely and the perfect way to end a magical day.
8. Clean rooms
The Disneyland Hotel is always as clean as a whistle–and that’s not just because the rooms are newly renovated. When I stayed in the older rooms before they were remodeled, I always found them to be very clean and never, ever looked shabby. In fact, they didn’t even look like they needed to be redone.
9. Beautiful common areas and gardens
Although much of the hotel complex is under construction at the moment, I do still love the common areas. From the gardens to the sitting areas in each of tours, the common areas offer guests places to relax and unwind. The sitting areas in the new tower are simply beautiful! I cannot wait to see what the new lobby will be like in the main building.
10. History
When it comes down to it, the Disneyland Hotel has unparalleled history. I adore the fact that this old hotel complex has maintained its magic of yesteryear while being updated with sophisticated elegance and a nod to retro charm.
