The Disneyland Resort will be unveiling all of its Halloween decorations and entertainment on September 17. I will be attending a special event at the park on the 18th and will have loads of pictures to share with you next week. In the meantime, I’ve assembled some of the details of this year’s festivities.
- First and foremost, the décor during this time of year is outstanding. Main Street is transformed for the Pumpkin Festival with more than 300 pumpkins creatively carved and on display in shop windows. Over at Big Thunder Ranch in Frontierland, guests will find ranch animals, pumpkin carvers, Halloween décor and activities for the kiddies, all presided over by Sheriff Woody. Also in Frontierland, Randcho del Zocalo will honor Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) with traditional skeleton figures on display September 19 through November 2.
- Second, and perhaps equally as awesome as the decor are the picture-taking possibilities. Favorite Disney characters, including Mickey himself, will be dressed up in their favorite costumes on Main Street and many of your favorite Disney villains will be scowling at the camera at a special photo location in the “it’s a small world” mall. We’ll be heading over there so our little Peter Pan can mix it up with Captain Hook.
- Of course, no trip to the Disneyland Resort is complete without…THE RIDES! This time of year, guests can enjoy Space Mountain Ghost Galaxy in Tomorrowland. What begins as a normal trip on the attractions changes when guests are launched into a haunted section of the universe. Jack Skellington also returns to take over the Haunted Mansion and bring back Haunted Mansion Holiday to New Orleans Square in Disneyland. This is always a huge favorite, so if you plan on riding this attraction, I recommend getting to it first thing in the morning in order to avoid a super long wait. Never head about Haunted Mansion Holiday? to New Orleans Square in Disneyland. Never head about Haunted Mansion Holiday? Here’s the video I shot with THE Jack Skellington last Christmas. (And yes, I am pregnant in the video!)

We go up every year for the Halloween decorations just to pick out a pumpkin to duplicate at home 🙂
