Last night I had the honor to be among the first to see the new “refreshed” Blue Sky Cellar. Led by Disney Imagineer, Alex Grayman, we were treated to an insider’s look at how and why items are brought to the Blue Sky Cellar. Please take a moment to watch my video about the “refreshed” Blue Sky Cellar and a look at the creation of Ariel’s Under Sea Adventure.

According to last night’s update and press conference, Ariel’s Under Sea Adventure will be open “by the summer” and will be appropriate for children of all ages, so long as they are ok watching the movie. There will be a scene with Ursula, Flotsam and Jetsam and Ursula will be a whopping 12 feet wide and 8 feet wide. Using the same ride system as the Haunted Mansion, the attraction will take guests under the sea and make them part of Ariel’s world for just over six minutes.
Scroll to the very bottom of this post and you can see my video of the Blue Sky Cellar presentation, as well as the NEW Blue Sky Cellar movie.
This mural will be on part of the attraction Ariel’s Under Sea Adventures and will be a whopping 86 feet long! You can see a scaled replica of the mural at Blue Sky Cellar |
New to Blue Sky Cellar is a plaque showing the layout of Ornament Valley in Car Land just like you would find in a national park. Below are close up views of the sign. |
This is by far my favorite new addition to Blue Sky Cellar. It is a painting (rendering) of Disney California Adventure that is animated with things like the Monorail, World of Color, and more. |

Funnn!! Great video- great presentation to see, thanks so much for sharing. My daughter wandered in while I was watching it, and she said, “Ooooh! Can we go to that this summer?” Pretty amazing how even in its uncompleted phase the Ariel ride is already inspiring her to want to see it in person.
