Everything You Need to Know About Disneyland’s Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique!

April 24, 2013 in All Posts, attraction tips, disneyland, disneyland resort, fantasyland, girls, photography, princess by Kendra Kuske

Updated March 2018

Have you ever had one of those overwhelmingly emotional, happy, prideful parent moments? You know, the ones where you tear up but aren’t sure why? Where your heart beats just a little bit faster, and you want to remember each and every little moment and detail? I’ve had many such moments over the years–several of them at The Disneyland Resort–but my most recent, a trip to Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique with my mom and daughter Emma was everything I could have hoped for and more.My mom (aka Grammy) and I took Emma to Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique for the first time–a trip that was years in the making. If you have not yet been or heard of it, Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique is a beauty shop located in Fantasyland where girls ages 3 to 12 are transformed into honorary princesses with the help of some very special Fairy Godmothers-in-Training. There is also a prince package for boys who wish to be made over.As this was her first trip and a special occasion, Emma was treated to The Castle Package (thank you Grammy!). There are are several packages to choose from, don’t forget to present your Annual Pass for a discount:

The Crown Package

Starting at $64.95 (plus tax).                                                                                                  Includes hairstyle, shimmering makeup, princess sash, princess cinch sac, face gem and nail polish.

The Minnie Dot Package

Starting at $124.95 (plus tax).
Includes Minnie hairstyle, face gem, princess cinch bag, nail polish, trendy Minnie tee, tutu and matching bow.

The Courtyard Package

Starting at $109.95 (plus tax).                                                                                                  Includes courtyard hairstyling, shimmering make up, nail polish, face gem, Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique t-shirt, trendy tutu, princess sash and princess cinch bag.

The Castle Package

Starting at $199.95 (plus tax).                                                                                                  Includes hairstyle, shimmering makeup, princess sash, princess cinch sac, face gem, nail polish, princess gown of choice, wand, crown, and portrait package courtesy of Disney’s PhotoPass Service: photo taken near Cinderella’s carriage and assorted prints presented in a themed folder. (Price determined by the choice of princess gown.)

The Disney Frozen Crown Package

Starting at $114.95 (plus tax).

Includes Anna or Elsa hairstyle with braided hairpiece, sparkling snowflake hair accessories, shimmering makeup, face gem, princess sash and cinch bag, nail polish, and a 12-inch Olaf plush.

The Disney Frozen Package

Starting at $164.95 (plus tax).
Includes Anna or Elsa hairstyle with braided hairpiece, sparkling snowflake hair accessories, Anna or Elsa costume, shimmering makeup, face gem, princess sash and cinch bag, nail polish, and a 12-inch Olaf plush

The Knight Package

Starting at $19.95 (plus tax).                                                                                                  Includes hairstyling and a sword plus shield.

The Deluxe Knight Package

Starting at $79.95 (plus tax).
Includes a Prince costume, hairstyling with gel, mighty sword and shield, confetti.

We were all completely enchanted from the moment we checked in. Part of what makes this experience so special is the ambiance of the boutique itself. There are several make over stations perfectly fit and sized for children. The shop and salon are decorated in keeping with the princess/ woodland theme and music from the classic princess movies was played throughout. Before her appointment, Emma was taken to the front of the shop to pick out her princess accessories (a dress, tiara, and wand). Once she had selected her Sleeping Beauty dress, Emma was escorted to a dressing room where after a flick of the wrist and a “Bibbidi Bobbidi Boo” the curtain was opened to reveal Emma’s dress, accessories, and a large picture of Sleeping Beauty on the wall. From there it was off to the salon for her makeover. Emma had the choice of 3 different hairstyles and was also able to choose her makeup and nail polish colors. I was very impressed with the neatness and cleanliness of the salon. Each item (brush, jewels, make-up, and nail polish) was sealed/pre-packaged and used specifically for Emma. Once her makeover was completed, all of the items were packed into a backpack that we took home with us. A PhotoPass Cast Member was on hand during the transformation to document the process. After her makeover, we were taken into a separate room for photos with the carriage. Here, a PhotoPass Cast Member took several different shots, which were printed and given to us as part of the package we selected. The Cast Members are all very helpful and obliging–they took several pictures with my camera and also let me take my own.

Last, but most certainly not least, Emma was treated to a special meet-and-greet with the princesses at the  Princess Fantasy Faire. Emma was given a special ticket and escorted directly to the front of the line, saving us 45 minutes according to the posted wait time. She met Cinderella, Ariel, and Sleeping Beauty- all of whom were extremely attentive and sweet.

Tips for a successful Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique Appointment:
• Make a reservation! This can be done up to 60 days before your arrival by calling 1-714-781-STYLE.
• Talk to your child about what to expect prior to arriving.
• If you’re on a budget have your child wear a costume/ princess dress from home.
• Take tons of pictures and video.
We truly had the best, most amazing time. If you have not yet been or are celebrating a special event, I highly recommend a trip to Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique; it’s an experience that won’t soon be forgotten by you or your child.

Are the dresses in the Boutique more expensive than if I were to get it in a Disney Store at the mall??

Do the girls get to have that special meet with the princess even if they only get the $60 package? Or is that reserved for the more expensive packages?

      Hi Jessi-
The Princess meet-and-greet is only available for those who purchase the Castle Package, which starts at $194.95.

We are booked in for the castle package next week. It was a surprise to us. My question is, do we need to purchase a dress with this package? I just got my girls princess dresses for Christmas, and they really don’t need another. Was hoping to save some money.

Hi Susan- Kendra here. I would allow for at least two hours for the Castle Package. This includes time for the princess to choose her dress, get dressed, hair and make-up, take photos, and last but not least meet the princesses at Fantasy Faire. Have a magical trip!

Question…do you only get to the front of the line to meet the princesses if you buying the most expensive package. If I bring their own dresses and get the second most expensive package can they still wait in line for meeting the princesses?
    Thank you. Loved your post.

We are going to disneyland in 2 weeks. I have reserved the castle package for both my girls. I thought the dress was included. Do you know if I bring my own, will the price be cheaper or is that for the other packages.

    Thanks,

Is it okay to make a reservation the day of? We are coming from San Diego and not sure with traffic and everything when we will arrive. Is it a long wait without an appointment?
