Since I am SWAMPED with work today, I am reposting one of my readers’ favorite Fun Fact Friday posts. This is the first Friday fact I posted and since my readership has grown by leaps and bounds since this first appeared, I thought some of my newer readers might get a kick out of it.
Today’s fun fact is about Main Street U.S.A. Have you ever walked by the Candy Palace and felt sucked in by the delicious aroma of the candy inside? The smell is almost intoxicating. The truth of the matter is that the sweet vanilla smell you get a whiff of is not the smell of the candy from inside at all. If you look just below the candy makers’ windows you will see what looks like small green decorations worked into the architecture. Those little green circles are actually vents that pump out a sweet vanilla scent (think one of those Glade Plug-ins on steroids). Genius, right?!
Do you have a fun fact you would like to share about the Disneyland Resort? Send me an email (babesindisneyland at yahoo dot com) with your fact, a photo to go with it, and a photo of you (and your family) at the Disneyland Resort. Once I verify the info, I’ll post your fact and pictures!

The candy store on Main Street at WDW has a small train that runs around and outside the store overhead – the steam that vents from the engine is chocolate scented!! Yum, gets me every time.

When my DS was little he was convinced there was a machine below Main St that pumped out great smells. He called it the Great Smellerizer, lol. Thanks for the tip:) Mmm I’m hungry!
