Last Friday my boys and I kicked off the holiday season by attending a get together hosted by Disney Interactive Studios, DisneyFamily.com, and Disney Home Entertainment. The party was held at The Victorian in Santa Monica, California.
Once inside, it was a Disney cornucopia of holiday activities and games. My boys immediately decorated and gobbled down delicious cookies hosted by DisneyFamily.com. If you haven’t checked out DisneyFamily.com, it is a must for families. The site is full of fun crafts, recipes, parenting advice and more written by real moms and dads. Although DisneyFamily.com isn’t plastered with mouse ears and other Disney stuff, it does offer some really great Disney downloads and craft ideas that my kids love and you will love too.
After decorating cookies, my boys were off to play the games offered by Disney Interactive Studios. I immediately honed in on the game every Disney fan has been waiting for…Epic Mickey. The game comes out November 30, but I hope to review it here on or before that date, so stay tuned! From what I have seen, it is a Disney fan’s paradise with lots of nods to the Disney classics and Easter eggs all over the place. Plus… Disneyland fans will love the the game has a virtual representation of Walt Disney’s apartment. Gain, more on that soon.
My oldest son loved playing the latest game in the Cars series for Wii. I had the opportunity to speak with one of the developers who went into detail explaining how they develop the games and have made instructions even easier so that kids who can’t read yet can figure the games out.
After gaming their hearts out, my boys headed over to check out the fun to be had with Disney Home Entertainment who hosted two super fun crafts for the kids. This holiday season, Disney Home Entertainment has some really great titles available, including Toy Story 3 and Beauty and the Beast. My boys loved painting on real easels canvases in the area sponsored by Fantasia.
In the weeks to come, I will be featuring some really great Disney holiday gift ideas, so stay tuned!
