Disney at Home: M&M Holiday Cookies Made the Disneyland Way

November 30, 2017 in All Posts, disney at home, disneyland resort, Jessica, recipes
One of my very favorite Christmas cookies is a cookie with red and green M&M’s! My mom always made them – and I just thought they were somehow so much better than regular chocolate chip cookies. So now that I make them for my kids, I’ve decided to use my favorite cookie batter recipe… Disneyland’s of course! Here’s my holiday version of Disneyland’s Chocolate Chip Cookie Recipe – they go perfectly with a cup of milk or hot cocoa! these cookies have the perfect texture Disneyland’s Chocolate Chip Cookie Recipe (with M&M’s) Ingredients: 6 cups flour 2 tsp baking soda 2 tsp...

Disneyland Resort Celebrates Lunar New Year January 26 to February 18, 2018

in All Posts, disney california adventure, holidays, other holidays
Lunar New Year festival at DCA In 2018, Disney California Adventure Park will welcome the biggest Lunar New Year celebration yet – running for a whopping 24 days – and celebrating the Year of the Dog (my year)!  The festivities include multicultural performances, fun-filled activities, vibrant and festive decor, international cuisine and themed merchandise to ring in the new year.  Lunar New Year is traditionally celebrated by Chinese, Korean, and Vietnamese cultures, which are represented throughout the Park.  As a Vietnamese-American, it is fun to see how the Lunar New Year gets the Disney magic treatment when I visit. Highlights of the festivities, which will...

Disney at Home: Disneyland’s Chocolate Chip Cookies

November 29, 2017 in All Posts, disney at home, disneyland, disneyland resort, Jessica, recipes
What’s better than a fresh, warm, homemade chocolate chip cookie? Only a fresh, warm, DISNEYLAND chocolate chip cookie! You can bring a little Disneyland into your home any old time, by whipping up a batch of Chocolate Chip Cookies from Disneyland’s very own recipe!  Chocolate Chip cookies are the epitome of simple baking perfection… and they’re my favorite cookie to eat 😉 I’ve already made Disneyland’s recipe for my husband’s favorite cookie – Snickerdoodles – which were amazing. And tried the Chocolate-Dipped Shortbread recipe, which were extremely delicious and turned out to be my son’s favorite cookie. So I’ve...

Disney at Home: Disneyland’s Chocolate Dipped Shortbread Cookie Recipe

November 28, 2017 in All Posts, disney at home, disneyland, recipes
Disneyland does something I find extremely wonderful – they share their famous recipes! All you have to do is go to City Hall on Main Street and ask – they will pull out binders full of them for you, you can pretty much find any of your favorite Disneyland recipes there! For free too! One of our family favorites is shortbread cookies, and I was surprised at the ease of Disneyland’s shortbread cookie recipe – it’s only 3 ingredients (well without the chocolate), that’s about as easy as cookie making gets! If you are looking to do something fun with your kiddos...

Disney at Home: Disneyland’s Snickerdoodle Cookie Recipe

November 27, 2017 in All Posts, disney at home, recipes
Because I don’t get to visit Disneyland more than once or twice a year, I’m often trying to find little ways to experience a bit of the Disneyland magic in my “regular” life. So when I stumbled upon this recipe from Disneyland’s bakery for their snickerdoodle cookies, not only was I excited about it – but I was practically ordered to make them by my husband! While I haven’t ever purchased a snickerdoodle in the parks, he has, and they are his favorite cookie to boot!  Let me tell you, this recipe is the best snickerdoodle recipe I’ve ever tried, and will certainly...

If you are headed to Disneyland during the holidays, this could be your perfect opportunity to get a great picture for your holiday card! Here are some of the most popular, beautiful and/or festive spots to capture your magic moment. The Christmas Tree – Main Street Disneyland’s Christmas Tree is always a beautiful sight to behold. The tree is so large you can’t possibly get the family and the whole tree in the shot – but just having the greenery, lights, and decorations of the tree, makes a beautiful backdrop. If you have the opportunity to have a Photopass...

Disney at Home: Goofy’s Kitchen Pumpkin Bread Recipe

November 21, 2017 in All Posts, disney at home, disneyland hotel, disneyland resort, recipes
When you eat pumpkin bread, it’s like getting a warm hug on a cold day. When you have pumpkin bread created by the chefs at the Disneyland Resort, there’s a extra dose of happiness in every bite. So many of the Disneyland Resort recipes are too complicated fancy for a regular home-cook like me, as they should be, that I just have to pass on them. So when a recipe rolls by with a short ingredient and direction list like this one for the pumpkin bread served at Goofy’s Kitchen at the Disneyland Hotel, plus it’s one that my kids would be able...
