Black Spire Hot Chocolate

The smooth hint of brown sugar in the chocolate,alongside the cream, will have your friends asking what your secret is. You cantell them, or play it close to the chest, because you’re the mob boss of yourown kitchen! Black Spire Hot Chocolate is a holiday offering at Disneyland, butcan be whipped up in your kitchen any time of year.

- Stand mixer
Ingredients
For Hot Chocolate
- 3½ cups whole milk
- ⅓ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- ⅛ tsp salt
- ⅓ cup water
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 4 tbsp brown sugar light
- ½ cup half-and-half
For Brown Sugar Whipped Cream
- 6 oz heavy whipping cream
- ¼ cup brown sugar light
- ⅛ tsp salt
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 drops purple gel food color
Instructions
- To make Hot Chocolate: In a medium sauce-pan over medium heat, combine milk, cocoa powder, granulated sugar, salt, water, vanilla, and brown sugar. Stir continuously until well mixed and hot, about 5-10 minutes. Pour into four large cups or mugs and add ⅛ cup half-and-half to each.
- To make Brown Sugar Whipped Cream: Combine cream, brown sugar, and salt in the bowl of a stand mixer and beat until stiff peaks form, about 3-5 minutes. Mix in vanilla and food color until well combined. Pipe or scoop ¼ cup whipped cream onto each mug. Serve immediately.
